Antonini Reunion 2007

I think I just lost my first post, that's not a good sign.
Here I go again.

Following the examples of the blogs of Tricia and Bjorn I have decided to create this one so people can keep up to date with the progress made for the reunion in August. Here everybody can make known their opinions, ideas, concerns and questions.

The response to my emails has produced the following list of family hoping to attend:

Rob, Bonnie, Nicholas, Jessica, Therese, Mary, Christine, Len, Kelly, Amy, (Campbell), Marty, Karen, Mike, Diane, Lindsey, Luke, Shannon, Christine, Ron, James, Christine, Presley, Chris, Kristin, JJ, Nevan, Lucas, Marcia, Dennis, Shawn, Brant, Julianna, Kahless, Briana, Braden, Ed, Deanie, Heather, Holly, Jamie, Eddie, Mia, Lui, Ellie, Lou, Marie, Tricia, Brandon, Dana, Davis, Jack, Tony, Carol, Sonia, Justin, Jacob, Jordan, Dustin, Kelly, Keenan, Jenalee, Mary-Ellen, Bob, Anne Marie, Mike, Zach, Noah, Jacob, Barbara, David, Emmanuel, Grace Anne, Hannah Lynne, Louise, David, Paul, Alan, Melissa, Bjorn, Vic, Don, Michelle, Mike, Penny, Logan, Geron, Betty Jo, Bob, Louise, Steve and of course Mom. That makes 91.

News to date:

Holy Rosary Cathedral hall has been booked for the gathering Sunday August 26 from 12 to 5. People wishing to do so can invite their own family and close friends.

I ran into Art, the super at mom's building, and asked the capacity of the hospitality suite and he answered 40. The Cathedral hall is booked for a wedding the 25th so I am working on booking the student lounge at Campion College, with Heather's help, and it's looking hopeful.

Dave and Louise's offer to look after the snacks for Saturday is obviously too much to ask of them or any other couple. With ideas from the rest of you we should easily be able to come up with some kind of plan for feeding ourselves. Anybody else who have plans they need help with they need only ask for help.

Tony has answered my call for somebody to look after a budget for our event. Chris has let me know Marty has offered to play, Therese is looking after a performance program, Marcia has a great idea for family photos, Rob is looking after a cake for Sunday, and Vic and Don are looking after a photo and pin. Chris has also asked to let mom know what friends you are inviting. That is a good idea, it will be a little less overwhelming for mom if she knows who is coming.

That is what I have so far, like I said if there is any other news you will be able to post it here or let me know and I can. I am looking forward to seeing all of you. 159 and counting!

I missed the 400th spot!
Its a busy day because its Bjorn's 1st Birthday today, and Grandma and gramps Butcher sent him a special wish on the 400 spot! So I guess its OK that I missed the spot thanks for the warning though Ed. I will try again for the 500 spot.

Hi: i just spent a couple hours catching up, I relly enjoyed it, and i'll try to blog a little more often...Len

Marcia said...

Hey great to hear from you Len.
Michele, you are definitely on board with your entry.
Louise, Please don't stop sending the rhymes - they're so beautiful.
I believe the answer this time is the arrival of Mom's first old age pension cheque and her last 'baby bonus' cheque in the same month - March of 1983 to be exact!
Ed, I'm so glad that the contest is for Lui, because I am totally confused by those clues!
Happy birthday Bjorn!
Lots of love,
Marcia

BJ said...

Hi Michele,
Welcome to the blog. And good to have you back Leonard. Keep on blogging.
Lucy,
Thanks for the wonderful rhymes. I agree with Marcia-they are beautiful.
And, hey Marcia,
well done. I wondered what the last riddle was; I am assuming it is correct.
Edward,
Holy Cow! These clues are harder than Lui's were. I may have to sit back and let him solve them all.
Happy birthday, Bjorn. You sure have crazy relatives.
Love, BJ

Hello everyone,

i tryed to guess at some of ed's songs but didn't get any right, if anyone is interested iin teaming up with me let me know i'm willing to help you out!

Louise and David said...

Yes, indeed, Marcia! In March of the year that Mom turned 65, she got her first old age pension cheque. That same month, Robert turned 18 and Mom no longer qualified for the monthy "baby bonus" that she had been receiving for her youngest child. Somewhere there is a picture of the two cheques side-by-side, capturing the moment of Mom's unique and seamless transition from one social benefit to another.

Rob ... you and I might make a good team. I sent in 15 responses and came back with a zero but Ed says my guess on Vic has possibilities. Did any of your guesses come that close?

Lui ... how soon can you put all of us out of our misery?

Len ... we look forward to hearing from you more often now that you've "caught up" on the latest entries on the blog. Watch out though, they can build up awfully fast if you're not careful. (Paul hints that a true Antonini does a quick check on the way to the bathroom in the middle of the night.)

Melissa ... you're so confident that the blog will hit the 500 mark that you've already reserved your spot. You go girl!

Now, for another riddle:

AN EARLY CHRISTMAS GIFT OF SORTS-
DUE THIS SUMMER BY REPORTS!

Love, Lucy

Robert said...

Hi lucy

we would make a good team but mine didn't come close at all and is your riddle Michelles stepdaughter Jamie's expected baby

Louise and David said...

Lucy here, Robert

I just learned a bit of family news from you. I wasn't aware that Jamie is expecting a baby this summer. (Sometimes the family grapevine breaks down as it winds and twists across the country. I wonder why?)

Obviously, the expected 'bundle of joy' not the answer to my latest riddle but it certainly is cause for celebration. Because of you, I've added Jamie to my prayer list today.

Now ... back to the riddle ... note the reference to a pre-Christmas 'gift of sorts'...

Luv, Lucy

Hey guys
I just got home from the road.
I just got caught up on the blog. I am here for 5 more minutes, then I'm off shooting until Friday.

Welcome new people.

Sorry I don't have time to work on the riddles. You guys get them fast.

I don't have a clue on the songs and I even think Lou is gonna have a tough time with it. We are gonna need more clues Ed.

Good bye....tears.... I am soooooooo gonna miss this.

Love, Marty

Hey Louise,

I"ll try the reunion itself. Celebrating mom's 90th.

Sorry I couldn't give you any right on your guesses.

It's only 4 days since I wrote my last blog.
My senses are reeling, I am agog,
Because during my absence since the main event,
A variety of clever comments have been sent
From Mary-Ellen and Robert, Ed and Michele, Tony and Carol, Michael and Paul
Lucy and David, big sister BJ
All of them posted just one day in May.
From Holly, Melissa and "Little" Lui,
Marcia, Lenny and even Bob B
Came promises, puzzles, memories and more.
A person could wonder what else is in store
Besides tears that we've shed as heroes were named,
Laughter we've shared as we riddled and gamed.
Love to all you wonderful and very clever people,

Hi Lucy,

What an amazing coincidence - I was going to guess what Robert guessed - Brian & I found out on Christmas Eve that Jamie is expecting on July 7th, so it was a pre-Christmas gift of sorts for us!

Thanks for adding Jamie to your prayer list - I love Lucy too!

Michele

Anonymous said...

P.S.

Mike, did you notice Jamie's due date is filled with your lucky # - 07/07/07! By the way, that's always been my favourite # too - even before we found out about Jamie's pregnancy.

Cheers to life!

Edward, I have come up with all kinds of ideas about your clues, but can't match any of them to songs. Is the first part of your clue about the song, and the second part about the performer, vice versa or not that at all? Where am I going wrong? Time for another set of clues already?
Robert, I will gladly send all my answers for you to use. In fact, I will team up with anybody at all. Don't hold your breath though.
And speaking of clues, Lucy--are yours getting harder as they go along?
I knew most of the first ones, but was stumped by the last 2. Don't make them any easier. Just keep them coming. I like it that they are being answered by different people.
Melissa, I was going to phone you about #400, but it was too early in the morning. We are 2 hours ahead of you. I am cheering for you to post #500. Go for it!
Marty, We've missed you. Too bad (for us, but good for you) that you are off again. Break a leg.
Love, BJ

Louise and David said...

Lucy here,

Yes, Edward, on December 22, 2006, our sister, Christine, sent us a joint email entitled MARK YOUR CALENDARS! In her message she wrote: "We have a weekend for celebrating Mom's 90th year!" In closing, she told us to watch for further developments concerning the "amazing event of all 14 of us coming together again" in August 2007.

It was Christine who got us to set a date and she who announced sibling consensus in time to heighten our Christmas joy. Anticipation has been building ever since.

Michele ... your latest blog entry proves that there were indeed two correct answers to my riddle. Thanks for expanding on Robert's guess. That's the second time I did not consider other possibilities.

Rob... In the light of Michele's exciting news, I'm going to backtrack and congratulate you for being first to answer my latest riddle correctly. As Edward would say: "Good eye, Rob".

Marty ... hi and good bye; happy filming until Friday!

Vic ... as M-E would say: GUM ANY DOOR DO!

No, BJ, my riddles aren't getting any harder but sometimes they have meanings that even I didn't intend them to have.

So......

THOUGH WE BALANCE SEVEN WITH SEVEN
THE SCALES ARE TIPPED BY ONE IN HEAVEN.

Lots of love, Louise

Man! You can't leave this blog for a moment because when you get back to it, it takes an hour to catch up.
MARCIA - how clever of you to guess Mom's cheques. I just couldn't get it and yet once I saw your answer, the riddle made perfect sense. Good job!
ED - Wow, these clues are tough! You have more confidence in me than I do!!
LUI - You're a genius if you figure these out!
VIC - I'm with you on coming up with my own contest in order to win a prize. Keep that rhyme coming - I love it.
LUCY - Your riddles are fabulous! How do you do that? YEA GROUND MOOD!
MARTY - Hurry back - we're already missing you.
BOB BARKER - I hope you get more pictures for the Family Tree. Hey All, you won't believe the great job he does with them.Send pictures!
ROB - At least you made a couple of guesses on Ed's songs. You're a genius even if they were wrong. I can't even come up with any idea, right or wrong.
MELISSA - Give Bjorn a big birthday hug! What a happy little boy he is. Cutie.
LEN - Good to see you. Love you.
MICHELLE - I agree with you; you are addicted!!
MIKE - Where are you? At Butler's?
TONY - You've got a lot of reading to do again.

I had to consult with my personal adviser(I won't give out the identity) about additional clues. Discussing the matter over popcorn and a slurpee I was advised to "let them do a bit of work for additional clues".
I guess my clues weren't as easy as I thought.
Again...following Lou's format
Here's the score to date:

3-Lou...Vic,Louise,Lou

Ed

Louise and David said...

Yes, Rob, you're right again! That's two for two now.

Mom and Dad had fifteen children - 8 sons and 7 daughters. Their first boy, baptized Luigi, was born on November 13, 1943. A full-term baby, Luigi suffered a cerebral haemorrhage and died the next day. As we all know, Mom gave birth to a fourth girl before she and Dad finally "took time to put a tassel" on a baby named Anthony Joseph. (Tony, I didn't say that but one of Dad's colleagues did when Dad announced your arrival).

M-E ... Thanks for the reinforcement on this latest riddle. You and I have a special connection to that little guy who was born between us, don't we? I think Len might have something to say about him, too.

Vic ... I love those rhyming couplets; they have given rise to a whole series of riddles. Thanks!

To Ed's unnamed personal advisor: what are you doing for lunch tomorrow? I do popcorn and slurpees, too.

Lou ... how did you do that? At the rate of 3 out of 15 in one day, you'll have Ed's puzzle solved by the weekend. (My math is definitely better than my music).

Ed ... have you stopped laughing long enough for a second report on how I'm doing?

It's way past my bedtime. Remember, I am five to eight hours ahead of the rest of you.

It's definitely time for another riddle:

CELEBRATIONS NUMBERED TWO AT LEAST
BUT THIS COULD BE A TRIPLE FEAST!

Luv, Lucy

Rob-1-Chris.

Thank you for this weeks contributions to the blog I will visit mom tomorrow night with 36 new pages for her binder.

Hip, hip, hooray! Three times over, Ed! Yes, June 17th was the day we celebrated Dad's birthday, Mom and Dad's wedding anniversary and, every so often, Father's Day as well. The triple feast happened whenever the 17th fell on the third Sunday of June - as it does this year! Go ahead, check your calendars. How auspicious is that?

Mike ... when you come to Fife, Dave and I will treat you to the best fish and chips in Scotland. I have to warn you though, there's one ingredient that only Butlers has and it's not transferable, is it! (By the way, if 555 is too low, shall be try for 777?)

Marcia ... your hard day at the pool might rival Dave's long walk on the links.

Ed ... I'm taking a break until your latest clues are posted.

Meanwhile, I just happen to have another riddle here.

WHEN AN ACE IS ON THE SPOT
A PERFECT SEVEN MAY BE SHOT!

The New Quiz:

Dad- He had lots of these words. I like to think most moms and dads do.

Mom- She’d ask him to look and see 5 times a week if she lived on the first floor. Real TV teems.

BJ- Her and Bob would travel together sometimes. Young Sidney has something in common.

Vic- It’s how I feel at 311, Deanie agrees. CHANCES ARE everyone would .

Louise- Nanaimo, Ladysmith, Port Alice...She could say this about this strip. Now it’s the Steading (east Sands)

ME-This is probably good advice for Mary-Ellen and her toes. Ad-here for excitement.

Tony-They are very important, he has to carry them with him. You'll all have to search to find this one.

Lou- With the Heartaches by the Numbers they’ve had. You could probably find them doing this.

Ed-I look forward to it even before work starts each day. Exotic woods are the in thing now.

Marcia- Three say she isn’t but 362 say she is. A recipe for fun.

Chris- I hear she planted one of mom’s favorites in the middle of the stage when her group performed this one. ET would have also liked munching on these.

Mike-He’s not likely to sell this House. One or more of us have had one or more of these frisky things.

Marty-He’s so busy it’s the only way I hear what he’s been up to. As close as Diana is to Diane.

Len-Besides the good I imagine he sees these at work to. Bad forest fires can even make a mountain look ugly and black.

Therese- Both Mary and Christine provide her with lots of these moments. He’s a little like us, myself and Marcia in particular.

Rob- When work is over...so is Rob. Only 16 of us could be seated in this plane.

Sorry

Better Luck this time.

For the first time I actually have the chance to solve one of my godmother's riddles before someone else already has... and I can't figure out the answer!

Welcome Michele! By the way, you might be an Antonini if your WEDDING CAKE was Rice Krispie! (And it was goooood!)

I may win the Bloggie for "Most Addicted Blogger"! The night before Dad posted his contest, I dreamt about the clues and dreamt I had to wake up and get solving them first thing in the morning! I woke myself up at around 1:00 in the morning thinking I had something I had to do, only to discover it was the middle of the night before the contest had even started! You might be an Antonini if you dream in BLOG!

Yep...Mike warned me that I had to use my email address to login.... Really, I was listening. Which makes me think of something.

How about this one?

You might be an Antonini if your mom sends you to the store with a list of groceries, but you don't NEED to write it down and then you have to phone her because you remembered you needed 4 things, but only have 3 in the basket?

Or does this only apply to me and my dad? Or do me and my dad only do this to her on purpose....only we know the answer to that one!!!

Just spent over another hour of mayor pat's time catching up on the blog - the riddles are great!

Those are some great Yahtzee scores by the way. I remember one day at mom and dads - I think even Cory was there, we couldn't put that thing down, mom was getting mad at us - i think we may have even forgot to eat that day??

Can't wait to see the movie Marty!

You might be an Antonini if you've been asked the question "now which brother is your dad?"

I am bias on that one 'cause I'm always proud to say Tony! Love ya dad....

Sonia

Hey? Where are my brothers???? Hello? Are any of you out there?

hey sonia - i've done the grocery thing myself. congratulations on winning the womens singles canadian racquetball championship this weekend, i read about it in the leader post this morning. hey everybody thats my niece!!!

Lucy,
Is your latest riddle about the "Golf" card game that Dad invented and played endlessly? I don't know anything about the game, but the words might fit, and no one else seems to be answering it.
Holly,
I hope your only dreams tonight are sweet dreams. This blog is out of control. Isn't that great?!
Edward,
These are easier clues? Holy cow! I think I know Mom's and Christine's, but are those other people related to me?

Thanks for the new clues, Ed. They've got Dave thinking out loud and I am getting a few answers from his random comments. Yippee!

Welcome back Sonia ... you might be an Antonini if you've ever lost track of a brother or two or three or. . .

Holly ... I love it when you refer to me as your godmother. I even wished that I had posted a more general riddle for you to solve. Keep watching this spot!

BJ ... I knew my latest riddle would not be easily answered by more than a dozen and a half people or so. I'm still convinced that someone out there has the answer. Will two more lines get the wheels turning?

Yes BJ, What would we do without Don to capture all seven of us in a single frame? His 2006 reunion photo of the seven sisters is the best ever. It is not only displayed in each of our homes but we have proudly presented it to our mother, children, brothers, aunts and friends. Last fall, when we especially wanted Tricia to feel our love and support, we gave her a copy of this photo of her seven smiling aunts jointly sending positive energy her way. This picture is a real keeper for its beauty and its memories. As Ed would say: Good eye, Don!

Update:

Michelle...1-Vic

Oh what the heck. More help.

The New Quiz:

If the clues remain unchanged, they have been solved by 3 or more.

Dad- He had lots of these words. I like to think most moms and dads do.

Mom- She’d ask him to look and see 5 times a week if she lived on the first floor. Real TV teems. Marvellous singing girl group.

BJ- Her and Bob would travel together sometimes. Young Sidney has something in common. At one time it took 80 days.

Vic- It’s how I feel at 311, Deanie agrees. CHANCES ARE everyone would .

Louise- Nanaimo, Ladysmith, Port Alice...She could say this about this strip. Now it’s the Steading (east Sands) I wonder if the boys surf here.

ME-This is probably good advice for Mary-Ellen and her toes. Ad-here for excitement. If you have to stub a toe it's better to be moving slowly.

Tony-They are very important, he has to carry them with him. You'll all have to search to find this one. They help locate before the rescue.

Lou- With the Heartaches by the Numbers they’ve had. You could probably find them doing this. This Guy was 9 weeks at no.1 in the late 50's.

Ed-I look forward to it even before work starts each day. Exotic woods are the in thing now. That's the time when the whistle blows.

Marcia- Three say she isn’t but 362 say she is. A recipe for fun. Irish twins.

Strip these to make wine.

Len-Besides the good I imagine he sees these at work to. Bad forest fires can even make a mountain look ugly and black. Lee ended up worse off than Eli and Clint.

Therese- Both Mary and Christine provide her with lots of these moments. He’s a little like us, myself and Marcia in particular. We all blog on these.

Rob- When work is over...so is Rob. Only 16 of us could be seated in this plane. The 9s and 10s seat many more.

Oh, yes, Vic! In the fall of 1994, Deanie and Edward organised a sweet, suite transformation project. In record time, they and others changed 403 from plain to perky. Ed focused on floors and fixtures; Deanie and her crew, on finishes and finery.

Dave and I have a photo album that records the operation from beginning to end - including the awesome moment when Mom and Dad returned to their newly decorated unit. They loved it then and Mom continues to enjoy the suite that she calls "home". (A favorite feature remains the unique display of her plate collection in the living room area.) As Ed would say: "Good eye, Deanie!"

Mike ... someday we will welcome you warmly to the Kingdom of Fife! Our eastern coastline is considered the jewelled necklace on the king's cloak. It also boasts the finest fish and chips shop in Scotland. Yum, yum.

Ed ... your clues are getting better and, to my good fortune, Dave is really good at picking up on your hints. Once again, I know what you would say ... "Good eye, Dave".

Time for another riddle:

Vic ... I recommend that the contest you're designing for yourself to win be a closed competition. I've learned from experience that this family can beat you at your own game. Good luck! Lucy luvs U, too.

Louise, I don't remember Dad saying "you are my riches" but it reminds me of Mom saying I was the best New Years prize she could have received.

Sometimes I can almost hear and see what some of you are saying. Like Marty, "Let me try to 'splain" or Mike's "Woh-ho-ho" and ME's "Damn we're good". And BJ's "Maroon". I have to admit, though, that it's hard to imagine Louise saying "YO BJ".

Remembering the Beach - what about a big sister who not only bought us a treat every day (popsicle day, ice cream cone day etc) but actually took us into the store to pick out our own penny candy (5 cent day). You could get a million mojos for a nickle.

I'm not getting the anagrams but I'll take another shot at Marcia's contest - Looking over us is Sister Extraordinaire.

Louise and David said...

Ed and Therese: I love your collaborative efforts. This is how family legends are created! On their very first date, July 13, 1937, Mom and Dad walked along the railroad tracks at Regina Beach. Though many people fear the number 13, our parents-to-be must have felt lucky in love. The rest is history, as the saying goes.

Throughout their married lives, Mom and Dad celebrated the anniversary of this first date. Sometimes they repeated their romantic stroll along the tracks but always they remembered their beginnings.

Vic ... I'm waiting for someone to give me another example of how your contest works. Once I see the pattern, I'll get right in step, too ... I think.

Chris ... I'm so glad you've joined us again. Aren't we having fun? Can you hear me say ... your entry is ahhh-some?

Anybody ready for another riddle?

THIS WAS NOT JUST ANY NOOK;
HAPPY TIMES WOULD FILL A BOOK!

Lots of love, Louise

Lucy,
Grandma's cottage was called Knick Knack Knook. We thought it was the cleverest name ever. Is that the answer to your clue? And, by the way, I am nominating you as family archivist. Your memories are phenomenol. Anyone want to second that?
Do you think the answer to Vic's 'Scary Royalty' could be Prince Alarming (once known as Prince Charming?) He is a character and this does involve a play on words. Let me know what you think. I am still working on the other ones.
Hi again Chris,
I like your enumeration of the things we all say. It is true that when you read them, you can actually hear the person saying them.
Ed & Therese,
Well done. Collaboration is great. Keep doing it.
Vic,
I love your puzzle. So far I only have the one, but you can be sure I will be madly trying to figure out the others. I've posted the one I know in the hope that others will start giving me answers to the others. What fun!

bad news for the ottawa senators, i told my son, luke i could'nt believe they lost last night, but he tells me daniel alfredson touched the conference championship trophy after they beat buffalo. apparently this is a jinx. no team thats touched the trophy has gone on to win the stanley cup. scott niedemeyer who has won stanley cups with new jersy, would'nt even step on the carpet that was under the table that the trophy was sitting on when they beat detroit. lets hope this superstition is'nt for real

Yes, BJ, Knick Knack Knook was not only a clever name but it was a perfect description of Grandma and Grampa's cottage at Regina Beach. We loved to drop in for a visit and we were fascinated by all the ornaments that sat along the sills and surfaces of their summer home. Grampa would take a break from his checkers game and Grandma would hoist up a cold drink from her mysterious dumbwaiter. At this time in my life, I realise that Grandma and Grandpa must have treasured our youthful company as much as we revered their timeless presence.

I also have to thank you for the example of the scary royalty. I quickly changed A Doll's House into a Moll's House. Other answers have not come so readily but I've got the idea now. As M-E would say: DARE WOMEN DOG!

Mike ... thanks for the heads up on Regina real estate. The market is out of control everywhere else in the world (except Port Alice). Why not in Regina?

Yet another riddle?

RENTAL SPACE IS "HOME SUITE HOME"
WHEN FOLKS KNOW THEY'LL NEVER ROAM.

Luv, Lucy

Holly Gustafson said...

Auntie Louise - is that Grandma's suite? That was a tricky one!

Louise and David said...

Yes, Holly, it IS indeed Grandma's suite. Years ago when the Westfield units were being sold as condos, David and I were able to keep Apartment 403 "all in the family". We extended out roles as daughter and son-in-law to those of landlady and landlord and offered permanent occupancy to the world's best tenants.

So Grandma's suite will always be her "Home Sweet Home" where she can welcome friends and family. As you well know, it has an aura of peace about it and an abundance of unique personal touches that say "Grandma Antonini lives here".

Vic . . . for "where gangsters' women might dwell", I am submitting: A Moll's House (A Doll's House). All I needed was BJ's scary royalty's, Prince Alarming (Prince Charming) to get me started. However, I'm not on a roll yet.

Before I head to bed, here's another riddle:

Thanks for the compliment BJ, he is a good man to take after...

I sort of take after my mom, I nag the kids once in a while. But I can't keep up to her yearly yard preparation. If I just leave my flowers NOT planted long enough, it eats away at her and she eventually comes over and plants the poor things!!! (could this be another intentional thing i do?) Thanks mom, the flower bed looks great.... oh and thanks mom for making dad sweep my garage and fix the lawn mower....

The bad part about the lawn mower though, is it works better now than it did before - now I have no excuses (other than it is raining, i have to do laundry, CSI is on)to now cut my lawn!!!

Oh wait, I have a new excuse, the lawn mower is out of gas!!! Yes - buys me yet another week off from mowing. I don't live by a gas station and don't pass any on the way to work. But mom does, and she will eventually come and fill it up for me - but she won't be able to find the gas can this year....I am going to hide it from her, someplace she will never look - right beside my vacumm.

(for those who didn't know my mom - hates vacumming....)

I think I better go now. I think I have to play racquetball!

Later!

Sonia said...

Hmmmm? Let A1, A2, ... , An be a set of mutually exclusive entries that together form the sample space S. Let B be any entry from the same sample space, such that P(B) > 0. Then,

P( Ak | B ) =
P( Ak ∩ B )

P( A1 ∩ B ) + P( A2 ∩ B ) + . . . + P( An ∩ B )

Note: Invoking the fact that P( Ak ∩ B ) = P( Ak )P( B | Ak ), it can also be expressed as

P( Ak | B ) =
P( Ak ) P( B | Ak )

P( A1 ) P( B | A1 ) + P( A2 ) P( B | A2 ) + . . . + P( An ) P( B | An )

Don't mind me, in March I had estimated the number of pages of blog we would end up with and got a binder the appropriate size for mom. As you can probably imagine my estimate was low so now I'm just trying to figure out how many binders I'll need.

Yes, Mom, you are right about the answer to my latest riddle! Late last summer, the Archbishop of Regina conducted a service of closure for Sacred Heart Church in its 80th year. Parishioners were encouraged to worship at other churches in the surrounding area. With them went their memories of births, baptisms, confirmations, marriages, ordinations, special feasts, anniversary celebrations, church socials, circles of friends and even funeral Masses. Parish life at Sacred Heart Church ended only because the building itself closed.

As BJ suggests, Mom, for people like you this was the loss of a life-long connection to a loving church community. I'm glad that you got to answer this particular riddle. (As you can see, BJ made sure of that!) I believe I can hear Ed say: "Good eye, Mom!"

Now, who has the answer to this one?

YOU WON'T FOLD THIS CITY MAP;
ON ITS STREETS, YOUR FEET CAN TAP!

Love to all, Louise

ed said...

I'll answer this one, I spent quite a bit of time on it after all and it contains that big Antonini symbolized "A" with, I like to think, Grandpa laying tile. The terrazzo floor at 1544 Albert Street is still a show piece and is included in Regina's own book of interest.

2) Who is in charge of the program? I would like to a video I made for Dad for one of his brothers reunions. It is about 6 minutes long.

3) Who is making the GIANT RICE KRIPSIE CAKE???!!!

BJ said...

Melissa,
I can't believe I have the most entries. Are you sure? Of course, I'm not willing to go back and count them either.
Having said all that, here I am back on the blog again.
Lucy,
It was actually Vic who made sure Mom's answer got on. She told Mom the clue and when Mom got it right away, Vic phoned me. I was trying to type it in while talking on the phone--I am useless at multi-tasking; I don't believe it can be done. Anyway, that is why there are typos in that posting. But Vic deserves the credit for getting Mom's answer on to the blog before anyone else could solve it.
Ed,
Please don't forget to bring the picture of that floor. We were so proud of it when we were kids. How lovely that it is in a book of "secret spaces."
Holly,
Good luck with trying to remember what has transpired on this blog. Better that you young ones are handling it.

Holly...you're not going to believe this, but the first thing I thought about was the rice krispie cake. Even before the birth of the blog, I tracked down a volunteer. (I WILL tell you that it's not Vic; she's going to be too busy octupling her popcorn recipe.)

Paul...no, son, you do not remember I Love Lucy. You remember replays of I Love Lucy, still in black and white. Relax!

Ed ...after seeing your formula for calculating the number of binders needed for the blog, I've decided that my music might be better than my math after all.

Vic ...I see there are already multiple answers to your clues. I WARNED you that this family would beat you at your own game!

Keenan ...please, please let Sonia keep her laptop. Tell her that I'm counting the pence in my coin collection to help keep her on the blog. (The exchange rate on the pound is $2.35 right now and it only takes 100 pence to make a pound. How are we doing?)

Tony ... even as I typed your name I started laughing again. (I'm using all 10 fingers.) My mind is filled with the hillarious images that you and Sonia create with your comments. As M-E would say: YON AD URGE MOOD!

Vic ...Well done, Sis, with your fast, efficient work - from Mom to you through BJ to the blog. Hmmm, Tony can't be kidding about his three-fingered typing.

Golly, I'm enjoying this!
Lucy loves every one of you.

Louise and David said...

Oh yes, Edward! I don't have to say another thing about that amazing terrazzo floor at 1544 Albert St. You have said it all and more. Thanks to your research, we can look forward to seeing a picture of the floor at our August Reunion. My most recent viewing of the map happened when there was a music store in that space. That's why I made the reference to tapping feet. So now it's a fitness centre. Ah, progress!

So...

Goodness! In the time it took me to catch up on the blog, four more people posted. Of course, there was a minor delay as I tried to remember my password... Oh, how I delightfully giggled as I read about my charming aunts and uncles forgetting their passwords in this complicated age of technology, only to go and forget my own when the time came. I've figured it out though; I think probability of password forgetting is directly proportional to how many blog entries you need to read to get caught up. Once you've read everyone's comments, stitched together your splitting sides, mopped up your tears and made yourself presentable again, how can you be expected to remember a password?

BJ - My dad says multi-tasking is the art of "at the same time, doing many things badly."

Melissa and sister Holly - I will gladly help you with the Bloggies. Let me know what I can do to help, like being one of those pretty faces who steers lost, award-struck celebrities as they try to exit the wrong side of the stage.

Well, Holly, You got the answer to the first line of the riddle. 1140 Garnet was once the magnificent home of Dad's parents, Silvano and Emily Antonini. We couldn't have asked for a better family home. It was, indeed, the "place to be". I believe that Marcia was the first child born after we moved there. We know now that there were many more children to come!

Mary-Ellen has totally surprised me by providing the correct addresses of our two other family homes - first, 1200 Angus Street and later, 1525 Retallack Street. We can still drive by those properties and follow the historic movements of our growing family over the years. However, if we're ever going to remember who lived where and when, we're going to have to check with Mom. Children's memories are often hazy.

Has anyone else noticed that we are developing a whole new vocabulary related to blogging, like: Bloggie, Blog hog, blog struck and blog addiction? Maybe one of us will compile the first dictionary of blogging terms. Sales could finance Sonia's laptop!

Are you ready for yet another riddle?

Whoa, great minds must think alike, I was going to guess Gnocchi as well!!

I remember watching grandpa in the kitchen making gnocchi.....my mom and dad made us all photo albums for our birthdays this year and there is a great picture of me and Cory in the kitchen with grandpa! (and we were sitting down nicely - not throwing pieces of gnocchi around, making a big mess.....we saved that kind of behavior for when we got home)

This should be #528 by the way, unless somebody has snuck something in....

You might be an Antonini if you number the blog and when you go and check your entry somebody else has already posted that number, or 2 or 3 people....

Great idea having a blog dictionary. How about blogged out? Blog anxiety (that occurs when you have missed a couple of days and go into a panic wondering how you are going to catch up fast because you are just itching to post a blog but you still want to be in the loop so you have to still read carefully...

That was a long confusing sentence, that would be a Run-on Blog....

I better stop now.

We always had Dad's turkey & stupendous stuffing on special occasions, and it was tradition so my guess to Lucy's latest is turkey & stuffing.

Tony, considering your run on the blog, you may catch up to BJ.

Hi all you prolific bloggers,
As Charlie Brown would say, Good
Grief! I counted eighty entries since my last comment. I'm going to have to visit more often or simply spend my time catching up. If I could hear my alarm clock, I'd set it for the middle of the night to get a jump start on you guys. Hey blog hog(you said it, not me), your guesses of Prince Alarming, Valley of the Molls(Therese also got that one) and Starsky and Crutch are right on! However, I have found out, as Lucy warned me, that this family can beat you at your own game. She guessed A Moll's House and Therese guessed The Spook of Earl and Citizen Cane all of which not only fit my descriptions but which I like better than my own. Anyway here's three more descriptions for you and the one from last time that has not been guessed yet.

Lucy here
Oh, oh, oh, I have created another riddle with more than one possible answer.

Now, what I had in mind were Dad's gnocchi-making sessions which were dust-to-delicious family events whether they happened in Regina, Saskatoon, Ottawa, Calgary, Victoria, Port Alice or anywhere else. Pictures of flour-covered kids, working alongside that celebrated chef can be found in family albums across Canada. Tony, you were first with this reply.

By the same token, Mom's cake-making sessions were sticky-to-scrumptious family events whether they happened in Regina, Saskatoon, Ottawa, Calgary, Victoria, Port Alice or anywhere else. Pictures of awe-struck kids, clutching the work of this celebrated cake maker can be found in family albums across Canada. Holly this one's yours!

M-E ... turkey and stuffing, yes! I can SMELL the seasoned butter ready to pour over the chopped up bread. I can SEE the yawning cavity on a 25 pound bird waiting to be stuffed. I can HEAR the fat sizzling as it spits on oven walls. I can TASTE the moist meat through crispy skin as we begin our meal. You TOUCH my heart. Mary-Ellen you have definitely earned this one!

To everyone who posted a reply:
"Thanks for the memories"!

Now...shall we continue?

"BIG IS BETTER" - SO THEY SAY;

Good morning people,

I have Louise's newest riddle, my morning brain seems to work better than my day or night brain.
I'm pretty sure she is referring to the "little beach" just a few minutes walk from the cabin, down the bank to the tracks, over the tracks, down the hill, and there it was, and so much easier to keep track of each other.

#536

Have a good day

Edward

Holly Gustafson said...

I must be just getting up as my godmother is going to bed! I think the answer to this one is "The Little Beach". I spent many summer days there feeling like we had our own private little beach, and only went to the "big beach" when the water on the little beach was thick as paint.

Holly Gustafson said...

Ooooh! I can't believe my dad put in his comment as I was putting mine in! I knew I was spending too much time reminiscing! I should have just mashed "ltielre beadhf!" on the keyboard and sent it in and then gone back to clarify! Bummer!

Vic said...

Hi Lucy
While you may not be on a roll, you're really moving. You got the blonde and the Brit right. I loved your sticky-to-scrumptious reference to Mom's rice krispie cake-making and the dust-to- delicious description of Dad's gnocchi- making. Don says he remembers the first time he helped Dad peel potatoes and kept thinking "now we must have enough peeled" but they kept on until the whole big bag was done. Don said he thought they had peeled a lot of potatoes for the seven Scandihoovians in their family and that he finally understood why it took me so long to find the right formula for just the two of us. Now that you've solved two definitions, I'm sending more to replace them.

I am exhausted from blogging this morning...I was just on Tasha's and Tricia's blog sites. Great to see the process of those two - they are amazing and I am so thankful they have had each other through all of this!

It's a small world, I actually work with Tasha's brother Chad, who also knows Tricia and has built gingerbread houses together!

You might be an Antonini if you get disciplined at work because you blog too much....

I'll be sent to Bloggers Anonymous - they probably have their own blog? I should find out. Blogging is like carrying around one of those "crack berries". Glad I don't own one of those, I would be blogging in rush hour traffic, at soccer games, camping - actually that would come in very handy...... wonder if Keenan could set me up on a payment plan for one of those....

Get back to work Sonia

I think this is #540

Melissa said...

OK this is nuts their are too many things going on for me to keep track of them all. I'm behind on the you might be an Antonini..., the Lucy Riddles I can barely keep up and now a Dictionary, Would someone else like to take on building the dictionary. I think I have the song contest up to date, the entries i have to count again, and YES BJ you have 68 Entries and counting, If there are more contests that I'm not counting please let me know. I think I'm just doing the main ones, the little anagrams, etc, were for fun.

Louise and David said...

Relax Melissa,
How will it be if those of us who are running a contest keep a record of our own results to hand on to you, Holly and Heather at a specified time? In the meantime, you can do the general tallies and keep track of your own challenges.

If there is really going to be a Bloggie Awards Night we have to keep it simple. A Blog bulletin Board might be enough. Remember, our time together will be short. The blog has a life of its own and we are living and loving it right now.

The dictionary idea is also "for the fun of it". Our blog language is developing and we are enjoying the terms and their "daffynitions" on the spot. The same goes for all the anagram variations on Mary-Ellen's DAMN WE'RE GOOD or DAMN YOU'RE GOOD. It's just in good fun.

Let's hope that our reunion weekend will be as spontanous as our time on the blog is. Ed has the essential arrangements lined up and we are on track for a good time together in August. Our motto might be: Make fun, not work!

As you and Bjorn so beautifully suggested:
BEHOLD JOY OVERFLOWING ON REUNION NIGHT!

Love to you, Alan and baby Bjorn.

Louise and David said...

Lucy here again,
No doubt about it - we much preferred swimming at the little beach to swarming at the big beach. As soon as I saw the father/daughter riddle responses back-to-back, I knew exactly what had happened. This one goes to Ed by three minutes.

Holly, your dad may have given us all a clear set of directions for finding our way to the Little Beach but you explained why we sometimes chose to go to the Big Beach. Your description of waters as "thick as paint" will make more than a few of us feel like squirming. For us, your reminiscences were worth second place.

Vic ... thanks for the encouraging words about my progress in your puzzlers. I haven't moved an inch since then.

Through collaboration, creativity and cunning, I/we have solved 15 of Ed's music clues. Is anyone able to throw the last title into the pot - the one that fits Edward? Deal or No Deal?

Okay, try to solve this one:

Hi Melissa,
I totally second Louise's suggestions on keeping it simple. We're just having fun on the blog so don't worry for a minute about keeping track of anything, except the stuff you want to. I think because we haven't had any serious responses to the liquor and food thing, I'm going to order 4 ounces of Scotch for Louise (she can share with Dave): Six bottles of wine for Carol and Deanie (they can breath on Ed and I after the first couple). I'll order lots of beer ( Keenan and Dustin can drink Mary Ellen and Bob's share (and mine and Ed's and Lou's and anyone else's who don't want any) I'm sure they will get lots of assistance from others who are willing to put their shoulder to the wheel and help them out. I'll get a bottle of rum for Len so he'll feel like Jimmy Buffet. Marty probably drinks water, and Mike and Rob will have to decide because they probably drink anything. I'm not sure if Betty Jo is old enough to drink, and all the other sisters (except plain Jane) will be singing so they will get nothing. Kids, grandkids etc etc will have to let me know what will inspire them. I'll leave the food up to Ed and the China Kid.

Good Morning, Vic
I have 3 more answers to your clues: For Kingly Papa, I suggest Royal Male (Royal Mail). For American Treat, I created Yankee Strudel (Yankee Doodle). For Garbage in Trees I resorted to, Old Tire Under the Elms (Desire Under the Elms). I'm still working on Silent Dancing.

Are you creating these clever clues for our consumption? If so, I have to say (with M-E's approval, I'm sure), DO YON MAD ROGUE! Marcia might add: Very ingenious coding tucks one's right ideas away. Ed would probably exclaim, "Good eye, Vic". You yourself might ask, "How did this happen?".

Give us some more now.
Love, Lucy

Louise and David said...

Rob,
If you point the cursor on the icon that looks like a garbage can and wait a second or two, the word "delete" will appear. Some of us were so eager to know what the icon was that we didn't wait for the warning. Evidence that we clicked on to the can may be seen wherever a past entry read: "This post has been removed by the author". At least it doesn't say: "What a maroon!" You already feel silly enough when the unintended deletion happens to you - take it from one who knows.

You might be an Antonini if you knew that your first impulse was wrong while you were still in the middle of making a mistake.

Tony,
I'm not ignoring you; I just haven't stopped laughing long enough to respond to your answer to my latest riddle. You've got the first half right. Dad was always calm and collected (even when he had to retrieve a wayward kid).

Toilet paper, macaroni and cheese, and Cheese Whiz would all qualify as "STUFF" that Dad kept on hand in great abundance but they are not the stuff I had in mind. Would it help if I changed the word "STUFF" to "FLUFF"? Anyone?

Lots going on here right now, so I have neglected the blog a bit.

Vic,
Could soundless dancing be Silent Swing (Silent Spring-Rachel Carson)? Your clues are so clever, but not so easy!

Louise and David said...

Good morning, BJ
How many kids can say that the lint in the dryer screen reminds them of their dad? You are right, though, Dad was visibly irritated when he discovered that the person who had used the laundry room before him hadn't cleaned the lint screen.

To me this oversight seemed to be such a small thing in the life of a man who had raised 14 children. For some reason, his brief annoyance has endeared him to me all the more; and laundry day is not the chore it once was.

Hi blog hogs, bloggers, bloggets, bloggerts, bloggees and my beautiful sister Mary Ellen(I'm trying to make up for a past trangression with that last one). I won't remind her or anyone else who may have forgotten or simply doesn't know what it was. Wow, Lucy I should be getting you to help me make up my play on words. You're close with Yankee Strudel but the others, though clever, are not the ones I created. Ditto B.J. Your guess with Rachel Carson's Silent Spring(Silent Swing) isn't right, but it is inspired. I loved the lint guess on Lucy's clue - I didn't think of it until she gave the extra clue but I remember someone asking Mom if Dad was perfect and she said no and recalled his annoyance at the leave-behind-linters! I hardly think that counts, as I understand that he said a prayer for them each time he found the offensive material "left behind"! Marcia, I forgot about your contest and have only one to submit right now -the V in my name doesn't call to mind a lot of ideas but here goes -Verily, Italian clan takes over Regina in August. I'll start working on them now that I've remembered your challenges. Sonia, Don(me too)is so impressed with you latest raquet ball win - he wanted me to send our congratulations. Ed - good guess on Lucy's clue. I don't know if it's right but I've heard his theory about canoes. I love this blog(ILTB.) LTA and a special XO for my beautiful sister ME, Vic

Yes, Edward, my latest riddle refers to Dennis Pinvidic but it does not do justice to his philosophy of life with a nautical theme. Mom and Dennis have had a few lively discussions on this topic. They have done so in a spirit of sharing and understanding; and always, with Dennis, there is a fair measure of humor, too.

If you ever get a chance to hear him out, Dennis will take you right through his line of thought, paddling alongside you on the River of Life - simply, clearly and logically. Enjoy the ride!

Vic ... surely the American Treat is not just a simple old Yankee Noodle! I guess I have to go back to the drawing board.

Sonia ...if your parents saw you win the women's singles, Canadian Raquetball Championship, you must have been playing fairly close to home. What a victory that would have been - becoming top Canadian in front of a home crowd. Way to go!

Ed ...has anyone figured out the song that goes with your name, yet?Can you give me/us a contact number? We'll collaborate; I/we have 15 others to use in negotiations. What's the latest tally?

M-E ..how do you do that? You even make people feel good about their mistakes. READY DO GUN MOO!

Well, it's bedtime for me and blog time for you. I'll be back.

Oh yes, Vic, what a work of art our dad produced in his re-creation of Disney's familiar characters. I'm so glad that you remember it too, Mary-Ellen. I recall the very day that Dad was heating the molding to complete the curve on Mickey Mouse's ear!

Somewhere there is a picture of one of our infant relatives sitting on that terrazzo image, but I can't remember who it is. Anybody...everybody...if that photo is in your family album, please dig it out and bring it to the reunion.

Apparently, when renovations were made at what is now Pasqua Hospital, this floor was preserved, for obvious reasons. By the way, Dad was well into the project before he received Walt Disney's personal permission to go ahead with the work. As Ed would say: "Good eye, Walt!"

Mike...you are so right...we have an abundance of great memories, with the will, the wit and the wisdom to share them.

Louise,
I'm not sure about your Queen City. I think the answer could be City of White (City of Light). Vic may have to consider us both right. Is the answer to your latest riddle our brother-in-law, Ron Evans? He is notorious for his puns. Here's one for you, Ron: A grenade thrown into a kitchen in France would result in Linoleum Blownapart. Corny enough even for you!

Hello all,

It took me a while, but I'm caught up. Louise, your latest riddle is Chris's marriage to Ron - a new son for Mom and Dad, Bass of the quartet the 'Chord Jesters and host of awesome Sunday dinners to which the girls and I love to receive invites.

In addition to gaining a new son, two grandchildren (whom I still think of as my little boys)were kept, and three added - a lone daughter for Chris, a real professional chef, and another son whose growth statistics are legendary.

Re-establishing my relationship with Chris and her family has been one of the greatest things I gained by returning to Regina. Now I get to sing in her chorus too. I love it!

Thérèse

Thérèse said...

Here's a new contest - and I'll introduce it by paying homage to other contest creators:

Lou and Ed,
The original had only 10 of these in it - this version has 65. Certainly you can guess this one. Go ask her if you can't.

ME - GET ME HE MAN

Marcia - Therese heralds everyone - now answer my enigma. Guess Antoninis' many elements.

Lucy - OH WHAT A TANGLED WEB WE SEE
WHEN LINKING THE FOLKS ON OUR FAMILY TREE.

Here's the challenge:

Starting with Luigi Silvano, I built a step by step chain through the family. The chain includes Mom and Dad, their 14 children, their 13 inlaw children, and their 36 grandchildren, for a total of 65 people.

Here's how to play, or, as Vic might say, the:
shackle of restrictions

1. Link by name - link people by any of their shared given names. An example would be ROBERT STEPHEN PAUL's scecond name is STEPHEN WILLIAM's first name.
2. Link by relationship - link people by their relationships, but only in their immediate family (spouse, parent/child, child/parent, sibling). A valid link would be ROBERT STEPHEN PAUL's son is NICHOLAS SILVANO; an invalid link would be NICHOLAS SILVANO's cousin is CHRISTINE LOUISE. You cannot skip a generation. NICHOLAS SILVANO's grandmother is MARY CLARK is not a valid link.
3. You can only use three relationship links in a row before you must use a name link. A valid sequence of links would be MARY ELLEN's son is MARTIN WILLIAM, MARTIN WILLIAM's sister is ANN MARIE, ANN MARIE's father is ROBERT DONALD JAMES. An invalid match would be MARY ELLEN's son is MARTIN WILLIAM, MARTIN WILLIAM's sister is ANN MARIE, ANN MARIE's sister is BARBARA ELIZABETH, BARBARA ELIZABETH's father is ROBERT DONALD JAMES. This will pose you a particular challenge when including Tony's family.

SPECIAL NOTES:
1. None of the above examples are used in my chain.

2. I used the following as valid links: ANN to ANNETTE and JOSEPHINE to JOSEPH (but not necessarily in that order.

DISCLAIMER: The names were provided to me by my siblings along with some research using Bob's family tree. If I come across any errors while people are solving, I'll let you all know what they are.

If you get stuck, I can provide you the next link I used in my chain, or take you back to where our paths converged.

Here's the beginning of the game:

LUIGI SILVANO shares his first name with LUIGI GERARD.
LUIGI GERARD's daughter is TRICIA LOUISE.

OK - GO!

Okay Therese,
I unscrambed the letters and now know your challenge is called " The Name Game." But I don't know where to go from here. THis is super tough. Help! We're going out for the day, so maybe the next time I check, somebody will have given us some more ideas.

Bye,
ME

This is out of control. I've been gone for six days without access to the Blog and I can't figure out where to pick up from when I last had contact.
It's going to take me a few hours to catch up let alone get immersed in Ed's contest, which may already have been won anyway.
And a casual glance has told me there is likely seventeen more contests I need to try and figure out.
I know! I know! HOW MANY!!!!!!!!!
Not only that but I am invited to a special birthday party being held today instead of Monday, so I can't even begin before sometime later tonight.

THIS IS INSANITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But great fun nevertheless.

Hey Lou, Welcome back!
I can relate to you - I've been busy here at the kids house (we just extended our stay until Tuesday). I try to keep up, but it's tough.
I love the contests - I have decided we have a lot of gifted writers in this family. Didn't we get that from Mom?
Therese, I am lost on this one. Can you re-explain?
I'm having great fun reading the blog, but can't come up with the answers to anything. Ed???

NOW LISTEN UP!YOU PEOPLE ARE OUT OF CONTROL!!!! There, I've done my bit--
several people have told me that as the eldest sibling it is up to me to bring some sort of constraint to this runaway train. Forget it! You guys are too far gone for me to start playing the responsible Elder. Besides I am having way too much fun to interfere. So from now on KEEP ON BLOGGIN. AND DON'T BLAME ME FOR FAILING TO TAME YOU.
Love, BJ

Lucy here, back from Edinburgh where Dave and I attended a garden show. Now I have to catch up on the blog.

Yes, BJ, the answer to my latest riddle is Ron Evans, Mom's only son-in-law residing in Regina. He's as good to her as he is to his own mother. Watch what you say around Ron, though; he can make a pun on a DIME and still make CENTS!(groan, groan)

Therese ... you have obviously overlooked Ron's puns! For you it has definitely been "keep a sister; gain a brother-in-law" with many TALENTS.(groan, groan)

Ron ...I'm lucky that you don't mind being on the receiving end of a NEEDLE 'N PUN. (groan, groan)I know you'll get me back soon enough.

Lou ... party on ...I'll keep working on the 16th clue. I'm even trying to solve it in my sleep now. The final guess that I sent to Ed was: "Quitting Time" by Ed Wood; I was desperate!

Marcia ...if YOU need an explanation of Therese's latest challenge, the rest of us should sit in on her class, too. Let's call it Geneology 65 in ten easy lessons. How about it Therese?

BJ ...as a child, I too believed that Walt Disney was privileged to have my dad depicting his cartoon characters in terrazzo. The celebrity in this case was Luigi Antonini.

Marty ...don't wait till Tuesday. We miss you, blog brother, catch up as quickly as you can. Move to my time zone for a 7-hour head start on everyone else.

Vic and Don ...happy 41st anniversary. Enjoy a romantic, blog-free weekend in Edmonton.

Dare I post another riddle?

THIS TABLE'S SHOWING SIGNS OF WEAR;
DON'T THROW IT OUT; PLEASE LEAVE IT THERE!

Lucy, leaving the blog for the night

After the day I've had, my car being broken into and my golf clubs stolen, of all thing, my clubs. I wished they had kept the car and left me the clubs. Oh, well, I'll figure something out. Hope everyone is well.
