I used to have season tickets to the Rider games, but in my old age my heart can't even handle watching the games on tv! Every year I say "Maybe this year II'll try to watch the games" to no avail. Tonight we were at a friend's house so I ended up watching the game, but I had to go hide in the basement at the end because I couldn't bear to watch them lose. I think it would kill me to actually sit in the stands. I obviously am a little too emotionally invested in the team...
Holly .... I know what you mean about the emotional tension that builds when you really want a certain team to win. Here in St. Andrews, the best we can do is check the score on the Internet from time to time. Even that hurts when the opposition wins in the dying seconds of the game. As Thom says..AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Marty ... I hope your football pool is good luck for the Green and White. So many of us have our hopes riding on them. As various created characters, we hedged our bets a bit, though, as if we didn't quite believe that Saskatchewan could win. Shame on those doubting intruders! Go Riders!
MAMMA MIA. Dida you see dat a game. Data turd string qwartabak es a pisa me off. Luigi you waita you turn. Shhhh. Maka too much a noise. Scuze. Eduardo e wanna speek a to us.
Sorry folks I woke to a commotion in the basement. The Pinzano boys dropped in after the game in an inebriated state so I figured I could put them up for the night. I thought they had gone to bed but it turns out they found Deanie's home made wine. I've sent them home in a taxi. Livenzo complained about the offer he made I couldn't refuse but I told him 5 bucks only goes so far.
Ima go back to bed...whoa, I've been spending to much time with the Pinzanos.

Calgary is absolutely gorgeous this morning. The trees are awesome with all their different colors. It looks like we may have great weather for " Lighting up the Night" on Sat.
I just sat down to read the blog and just as I'm reading ME's quote, Karen came down the stairs(she has the day off) and said,"What a beautiful day. I hope it stays like this until Saturday." Too cooool.
I can't wait to see all the folks again. this is our first "Lighting Up The Night".
Well, our weather here in Calgary is a bit cooler than yesterday, but still pretty good ( blue skies, fluffy white clouds, +15C ). I made a forecast for good weather for Sat., but now I'm no longer sure about that. Bring warm jackets just in case!
QUOTE OF THE DAY: Weather forecast for tonight - dark! - George Carlin
That's about the only forecast that is a definite.
ME Its Calgary always Prepare for the worst, or wait 5 minutes! You can always remove clothes if you have too much but if you dont have enought well then ...
Happy Birthday, Penny, There's nothing like a special celebration in the family to bring new life to the blog.
We hope your day is wonderful. We toast your happiness and health as you turn 33. What a nice, young age! May all your wishes come true! Cheers!! Louise and David
Hi Mike, The forecast for Saturday is sunny and a high of +12 C. So far there's no mention of rain - but as I said earlier, when it comes to the weather, who knows? Anyway, regardless of the weather, Tricia's Trotters and all the other teams will definitely "Light the Night" here in Calgary. Looking forward to seeing you and the rest of the team there. Bring a jacket, just in case! It's a good walk.
QUOTE OF THE DAY: Now shall I walk Or shall I drive? "Ride," Pleasure said: "Walk", Joy replied. -W.H.Davies
Man, you leave the blog for a week and 200 comments show up. What'd I miss?
I'm back in Texas after a wonderful (but too short) visit to Trois-Rivières and Ottawa. We had a great time visiting family, though the alien typing at mom's computer kinda freaked me out.
Here it's +35C and partly cloudy (funny putting a + in front of a temperature).
Thom ... we know Balcarres by name at least and we do wish Lorraine good luck in the application and interview process. What sort of opportunities await you in that area?
Dave and I grasp any chance to toast others with a wee dram...cheers to you and Lorraine tonight! Luce
ME ... today the Fife countryside confirmed Camus' comment about autumn turning every leaf into a flower. I appreciated the fall colours all the more because of your September 24th thought for the day.
Mike ... Scotland is lovely. Fall is holding winter off and St. Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns are busy preparing for the Dunhill Cup. As play begins next Thursday morning, Dave will be marshalling on the Old Course and I will be in Regina with Mom. What a difference a week makes!
Kenneth ... did you actually meet the alien that tapped into your Mom's computer? I suspected it was a short, grey-haired creature so much like BJ herself as to fool even those nearest and dearest to her. It freaked you out, eh? Hmmm.
Lorraine is flying to Saskatchewan on Tuesday for a second interview for that job in Balcarres. It might not be long before the province has two more residents.
On another note, I can't seem to find my silver music stand. Anybody see one hanging around Regina anywhere?
Light the Night, Tricia's Trotters! Your 30 balloons will glow brightly in the darkness. The funds you have raised for research will encourage cancer survivors and save lives.
Congratulations and easy walking to those of you on the team list: Tricia Marie Lou Lindsey Heather Ed Dana Deanie Brandon Diane Michael Marty Justin Mary-Ellen Lindsay Melissa Chad Shaunda Robert Elisabet Shelly Calvin Maddix Erin Karen Doug Michelle Barbara Tasha Ryan and to family and friends who will be accompanying you along your way.
We are with you in spirit! Cheers! Louise and David
Tricia's Trotters, Although we cannot be in Calgary tonight, we are with you all in spirit. We will be thinking of you walking together and hope the event is a huge success. Love, BJ
Hey All, Tricia's Trotters have actually raised more than what shows on the site. Some of us ( like ME ) don't know how to put our figures up on the site so it shows 0. It'll be interesting to see what the final total is. It's about +9 here right now, so we're hoping for pretty good walking weather. Ed & Dean arrived yesterday and Ed has just gone out to the airport to pick up Heather. We're all meeting down at Eau Claire around 5:30, and the walk starts at 7:00 so we'll have some visiting time. We'll be carrying balloons that have a light inside them and so we'll "Light the Night". Lui & Marie have asked us back to their house for pizza after so more visiting time! We saw Tricia last night and she is amazing. Lui has made a sign "Tricia's Trotters", so those of you going, just look for the sign and you'll find the team. See you there!
Hi, When Marty came over last night, he brought his 2nd & 3rd place MSA miniatures - Lynx and 3 Sisters. When he was getting ready to leave, I told him I had left the front door open and some thief came in and stole them! He wasn't buying that story, so, with regret, I gave them back to him. You guys want to win these! GO RIDERS!
Just waiting to go for that "Walk". See a bunch of you there.
ME ... you are bold to tell all of us want-to-wins the story of the imaginary thief who stole our second and third prizes. You'd have earned first place if Marty had fallen for that story!
Marty ... way to go! I hope you've learned your lesson. Those MSA miniatures should be under lock and key until the rightful winners are named. Send them to me; I'll look after them for you.
Eh! We are look for Eduardo. we are at a is ouse, e lefa da door ope. Luig tella me to check da blog, be righta back. Ok so we no more look for Eduardo looka like e is in Calagar. Oh boy! Mary Ellen let me check the blog and just as I did I see the Pinzano boys are at it again. I just finished corking a new batch of Deanie's wine so I may be in a bit of trouble.
It's been a great trip to Calgary and we have already had some prime visiting. We are all excited about the walk tonight and the get together afterwards can only be fantastic. Thanks to everybody for the great financial support and double thanks for the support of your spirits we will walk with you at our sides.
I have to go figure out what I'm going to do with those Pinzanos.
You ave a special ange you no know about. She'sa my daught da whitea sheep of da fam. I ava tree black ana one a white. Ha Ha. My daught she reada da blog alla time she lova you fam. Presley's eyes are sure to light up when she sees 31 candles burning on your cake. Enjoy your special day with family and friends. May all your wishes come true.
We have wakened to this final day of September knowing that Team Tricia's Trotters must have lit up its own corner of the Calgary sky last night in celebration of life and hope.
This morning the web site gives a team total of $6,370 but we will await a posting of the official amount raised when the tally is complete. What an awesome contribution to lifesaving research!
Pizza at home with Tricia, Lou and Marie must have tasted especially good at the end of your Light the Night walk. Team spirit is the best topping of all.
Ed ... the latest adventures of the Pinzano family are very funny. We hope the clean-up job at your house is complete by the time you arrive back in Regina. It sounds like you may have to restock your wine cellar, though. Mamma mia!
Thom ... in referring to the family tree for today's family celebrations, I discovered that Bob Brockett was born in Balcarres, Sask. Did you know that? Good luck to Lorraine on Tuesday!
Searchers of lost items ... while you are looking for Thom's silver music stand, could you watch for my silver necklace with a circular celtic knot pendant? It is most likely in Mom's suite.
You might be an Antonini if wherever you go, you lose track of some of your belongings.
Thank you, Thank you. You help to make this blog so interesting with all your stats. I love to check it everyday and find out what is Really going on in "The Family".
Happy birthday James
Coool Balcarras...I helped fix the terazzo floor in there approx-30 years ago.
I CAN"T BELIEVE I FORGOT MARY ELLEN AND BOB'S ANNIVERSARY WAS TODAY! Karen told me it was coming up. We just spent last night with her too. La La...please accept these two mini paintings of 3 sisters and linxy as a token for my forgetting your anniversary today...oh, wait a minute... I think I may have sent them to Lucy for safe keeping already. Lucy, can you send those to ME when you get them?
Whoa, Marty, Are you sure you are placing these treasures in the right hands for safe keeping? These are hardly disinterested or objective handlers. In fact, it seems to me a conflict of interest. Surely there are older, wiser and more trustworthy people you could safely leave these valuable paintings with. Love, your oldest, wisest and most trustworthy sibling.
Hi, Its actually Paul here, i couldn't remeber how to sign on so Mom said I could use hers. Did anyone else watch that golf? I guess people 2nd guessing Weir now will keep quiet!!! Not sure if Tiger could handle the pressure. That was AWESOME, I actually turned down playing golf to watch that. talk to everyone later. Paul.
Although the Yanks crushed the Internationals overall, Mikey vindicated Captain Player's controversial pick by not only putting a Tiger pelt on his bag, but being the top point-getter for the blue side.
Back to football, I don't think much is going to change over the next few weeks. Next week, B.C. could meet their match in the Boo Bummers, but SSK will face tough competition in Calgary. I expect both will win, however. Then, the Green and White get to kick the crap out of the Printers-less Hamilton twice, while B.C. gets to face the almost equally pathetic Eskimos minus Ricky Ray. That will be followed by a reversal of bottom-stomping fortunes as the Lions go to Hamilton while the Roughies are in Edmonton.
The wild card is the last week with the Big Smoke in Regina and the Stamps in Vancouver.
My prediction (although not for official contest purposes) is now B.C. finishing one point ahead of us in the West. We still get our home playoff game, however (first since 1988).
And, of course, we still roll over B.C. and win the Grey Cup. Duh!
Very interesting that Uncle Brockett was born in Balcarres. The "Integrated Care Centre" hospital and seniors' home where Lorraine is applying was established just ten years ago. I suspect on Dec. 20, 1940, it was little more than a post office. I would love to hear the story of David's birth and early life in, what 67 years ago, could have been little more than a rural outpost.
It is highly unlikely we will live there, however. More likely we will get a place in (or near (on the Regina side (it's been a while since we've seen nested parentheses on the blog hasn't it?))) Fort Qu'appelle.
BTW, anyone in the family know any big wigs at the Leader-Post?
I just finished watching the golf,(I taped it earlier), so I have not been able to read the blog until now. That was the best golf I have seen. Wasn't that fun?
Hey BJ
What was I thinking? Those scoundrels! I'll get on that right away. Thanks for the tip.
Could you send those two paintings back to me when you receive them. I think I forgot to paint one of the whiskers on the cat and I may add a small tree on the left side of the 3 sisters.
Sorry Thom, my old friend Bob Hughes recently retired. He worked his way up to Editor after over 40 years with the LP. I think he does some freelance articles now.
The walk was unbelievable with about 40 people on our team, we raised about 2% of the $380,000 total! It was very moving having a large number of family members with us especially Ed and Mike and most of their families who travelled from Regina to attend. ME, Marty and Karen, Dana, Alan with Melissa and Bjorn and Marie's brother Bob who drove in from Fort McLeod. There were also a number of Tricia's friends including Tasha. Thank you very much to everyone who joined us!!. Hope I didn't forget anyone.
I also want to thank everyone who made "Light the Night" so successful. Thanks in particular to Tricia who is definitely the inspiration for our team. What a girl! She walked the whole way. The walk was about 61/2 K this year and a bit of a challenge, but the weather & scenery were great. Marty & Karen carried our banner, Lui carried our sign, and Tricia carried our hearts. We got down to the site early, so that we could get a bit of a visit in. There were lots of us there to visit with, and seeing all the familiar faces ( in & out-of-towners ) trotting along the route made me smile. Thanks to all the participants -those who came & also those who contributed but weren't able to be here. Thanks also to Lui & Marie for the pizza, salad & drinks. They are always such gracious hosts and we did some more visiting there. So to all the members of Tricia's Trotters, I say: DAMN YOU'RE GOOD!
the walk with tricia's trotters was very exciting. along with all the other participents. thanks for the hospitality lui, marie and tricia.
thomas - the bombers will beat the lions, and i heard tiger let mike weir win, because they had the thing wrapped up and he thought it would be a nice thing to do, playing in canada and all.
I've uploaded our pictures of the Light the Night walk onto my website in case you'd like to check it out!
http://112gustafsons.spaces.live.com
We had a great time and were so happy to be there to be pulling up the rear of Tricia's Trotters! We were so far behind I'm sure Auntie Mary Ellen thought we had all fallen in the river... but we made it!
Mike ... how about that Mike Weir? Rumours or not, Tiger wouldn't LET anyone beat him. What a win for Weir!
Paul ... deciding to watch Weir's final round against Woods instead of going golfing yourself, was an excellent choice. Weir says his performance at the President's Cup ranks right up there with his Masters win. Imagine!
Lui ... thanks for the brief account of the Light the Night walk, the participants supporting Tricia, and the funds raised by the event. Congratulations to one and all.
ME ... we love your tribute to Tricia as the inspiration for Team Tricia's Trotters. We knew that was the case, of course, but your comment about Tricia carrying your hearts paints a clear image of her courage and stamina.
October 1 was like a spring day here in Fife. Dave and I took a double-decker bus down the scenic coast to the fishing village of Anstruther where we had a fish supper at Scotland's award-winning fish bar. Yum! What a good day this is.
Holly ... David and I are just back on the blog after viewing the pictures of your family participating in the Calgary Light the Night Walk. Thank you for bringing some of the excitement and joy of the event to us in such a visual way. We love the shot of Ellie walking off into the darkness with her lighted balloon. Great stuff!
I also wanted to say a huge thank you to Uncle Lui and Auntie Marie and Tricia for their hospitality after the Light the Night walk. It was wonderful to see everyone and I was honoured to walk alongside Trica and all of our family!
Thanks Sonia. I suspect it's pretty close to being a done deal. Usually employers don't fly you in for an interview if they're not pretty sure about it.
It has been pretty sparse pickings on the old blog of late.
Here's some news that could (I hope) generate some activity: Lorraine got the job in Balcarres. Looks like we'll be moving to Saskatchewan in November.
Hey Mike, do you deal with rental properties? We're looking for a house in (or near) Fort Qu'appelle.
Thom, I spoke to friends in Regina and if you are serious about speaking to someone at the Leader-Post send me your resume and I will forward it on. It speaks for itself so all you need is an introduction.
Holly, thanks, not so interested in Lipton though. I want to stay on the Regina side of Balcarres since I will likely be spending a lot of time in the city
Happy Birthday, Brandon! We hope your day is doubly special with Jack and Davis there to help your blow out all 36 candles in one great gust.
Though I'm in Canada and David is in Scotland, we raise an international toast to your own good health and to the health and happiness of your family in the coming year. May all your birthday wishes come true!
Lou ... thanks for being at the gate in Calgary as I arrived back on Canadian soil yesterday afternoon. You do the nicest things in such an easy manner.
Marty ... thanks to you, too, for joining Lou and me at the airport. Your energy is contagious and I brought a good dose of it along with me to Regina.
Ed ... thank you, too, for meeting my late-night flight into Regina, for carrying my luggage and for providing personal taxi service to my destination - Mom's suite. I scanned the crowd at the arrivals gate and there you were, smiling up at me.
Sometimes I am surprised and always I am humbled by the love you, my brothers, show by doing such thoughtful things for me in the midst of your busy lives.
Thanks Luce, we're kind of excited about it, despite all the crap involved in moving. The good thing is the Sask health authority is paying for it so we should just be able to call up a moving company and have them do all the work. Of course, we will need to have an address for them to deliver to.
Thomas, Jamie says check Zehner or Edenwold. Also, if you and Uncle Mike see a house for sale that you like, let us know - we could buy it and rent it to you if you'd like (we have a rental business).
This has been a day of transition for Mom here in Regina. Vic went back to Saskatoon this afternoon after a month of providing top-notch personal care, preparing quality meals and maintaining a bright, clean environment .... all for Mom's good health and general well-being.
If there were such a thing as blogapplause, Vic would be getting a standing ovation.
Thanksgiving Weekend is underway and we are thinking of all the things for which we could say, "Thank you".
From A to Z ... FAMILY is at the top of our list.
So, on this special weekend, we wish each one of you a grateful celebration of life. Whether you are alone or surrounded by lots of people, we hope you are able to feel love and to give joyful thanks.
"The Mom" tells me that today is the Feast of the Holy Rosary. She is thinking of all the rosaries she has prayed over the years and all the fimo versions she has given to family, friends and even to strangers. This is a day of great remembering for her.
Hey Lucy, Thanks for the good wishes for Thanksgiving. Same back to you & Mom, and the whole family, wherever they are. We celebrated it yesterday with turkey & all the trimmings. Lots to be grateful for.
QUOTE OF THE DAY: As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words but to live by them. - John Fitzgerald Kennedy
ME ... once again, you have found a quote that is perfect for the occasion. Saying "thank you", sincerely and often, leads to "an attitude of gratitude".
Chris and Ron are going to deliver a thanksgiving meal to Mom and me this afternoon. We'll have it after we watch the football game on CBC. Oh happy day!
Kenneth - can you post your email? I can't seem to find it...I think Sunday for breakfast might be the best time to get together while I am there, but I can let you know more details without taking up blogging space!
Let me simply say how grateful I am for an amazing family. Truly something to give thanks for. A year ago today I celebrated my first pass home from the hospital, and ate pureed turkey, potatoes and cranberries with my mom, dad, Dana, Brandon, Davis and Jack. Talk about thankful. A year later, I will help prepare the meal, and it will not be pureed for myself or the twins as we've all advanced!
I am still trying to get the final total on Tricia's Trotters, and will include it in my blog post hopefully today, but wanted to say THANKS to everyone - the trotters, the donors, the supporters. For all that travelled so far, and raised so much, I cannot explain how much it meant to me to walk amongst you at dusk and celebrate. It's a bit like the feeling I had in ICU last summer - where I felt a "balloon" of energy around me, keeping me alive. To me, it's the energy of my angels, and you certainly walked around me at Light the Night, physically or in spirit. Thank you.
Thanks for the score-by-score accounting Lucy. I didn't watch the game, but would check the blog now & then to see what was happening. I almost felt like I was at the game!
Thanks for your post, Tricia, and for inspiring our team. It was an honor to be a part of the walk, and great fun seeing so many friendly faces. I hope you & your family enjoyed your dinner tonight. We give thanks for you.
Happy Thanksgiving Blog Land Canada!! Tricia, Bjorn also enjoyed his unpureed thanksgiving meal this year, Turkey, veggies, stuffing, gravy and even pumpkin pie with whip cream! Yum and More was all Bjorn had to say throughout the meal!.
Lucy, I never knew that you were a football announcer, You a Mother-in-law of many talents..
Happy Thanks giving again everyone! I'm off to bed soon the Turkey is making me sleepy!
Careful what you say about the Lions MOM, Even Bjorn knows what a Loins says GGGRRRRR!!! And the Lions have one of the best QB's in the league. I say Lions Win 27 - 7 If you guys manage to kick the extra point.
OOOps ... I forgot I raised a BC fan. Sorry, Alan, ... once a Rider fan, always a Rider fan. Go, Green and White! Grrrrrr!
Melissa ...I'm glad to hear that Bjorn enjoyed his thanksgiving dinner so much. Tell him that "yum" and "more" were words that Great-grandma and I also used a few times today.
I had forgotten about the sleep-enducing property of turkey. Here I thought I was still suffering from jet-lag. Something is making me very tired so I'm going to give in and go to bed. Good night!
We spent a wonderful winter weekend on the mountain. One of the neat things about living in the mountains, it's still fall down in town, but it's already a winter wonderland up the hill.
Just about a perfect sports day yesterday (go Riders!) and the damn Yankees were tossed aside by the Tribe.
Too bad for Joe Torre, I suppose. Steinbrenner is a lunatic, but he makes a good point, he doesn't have a payroll twice the size of everyone else in the majors to lose in the first round.
Hope everone had a stellar Thanksgiving (sorry Kbub, but you've got one coming up in November).
I'm wondering if we could maybe call on Ed, for the benefit of those of us who are still battling with 20th century infrastructure, to open Chapter 6 of the blog. I'm starting to get really blogged down again.
You're right Marty. Marcia is already here, staying at a downtown hotel, getting ready for her judging duties. Chris arrives sometime today and will also be staying at the hotel. I guess they have to stick close to the other Sweet Adelines! Vic arrives tonight and will be staying with me - she and I are going to be part of the audience. Everything starts tomorrow and Vic & I have tickets for all the competions. Canada rarely hosts the big International Competition, so here's hoping Calgary weather stays nice, and that Calgary shows the world some great Canadian hospitality. The SA's have rented the Saddledome so it's a BIG EVENT! Imagine our own sister being one of the International judges! 3 cheers for Marcia! I've got to quickly go now and get my tickets. I'll let the Blog know how things are going. Later, ME xoxoxoxoxoxo
Good eye, Marty ... you must have heard that the Sweet Adelines were coming to town. The Saddledome is going to ring with a sound it has never heard before.
Mary-Ellen ... we will watch for reports from you. Apparently the International Competition is beyond anything you have ever heard before. And with Vic right there beside you ... ah, perfection!
Mike ... I'm glad you dropped in on the blog and I'm even happier that you came by the suite to spend time with Mom and me. Come by again real soon.
Thom ... we'll encourage Ed to make the blog change you are suggesting. We want to keep our favourite reporter happy and present to us here on Ed's Edition.
I wanted to post the recordings of b@bigdog's new album online for friends and family. I also had a bunch of notes lying around from the arranging and recording. So, inspired by Ed's Edition, I decided to blog the whole thing. There's way more detail than most people will ever care about, but you can always just listen to the songs and ignore the excruciating minutiae (excrutiae?).

Lucy here,
Thom ... your play-by-play says it all. OUCH!

Calgary is absolutely gorgeous this morning. The trees are awesome with all their different colors. It looks like we may have great weather for " Lighting up the Night" on Sat.
Love ya,

WOW!!!
I just sat down to read the blog and just as I'm reading ME's quote, Karen came down the stairs(she has the day off) and said,"What a beautiful day. I hope it stays like this until Saturday."
Too cooool.
I can't wait to see all the folks again. this is our first "Lighting Up The Night".
Love,
Marty
wow, quiet day on the blog, i had to think twice about posting because i don't want to screw up some kind of record for the fewests posts
i think three is probably still in the running, i guess everybody is still in grief over that last second loss to the GGGGGRRRRR Lions
Brr, it's 0 degrees here this morning! Turn the heat up in Calgary before we get there please!
I'll be thinking of everyone who is participating in the Lighting up the Night Walk.
I really wish I could be there, I thought about coming, but Jacob has football play-offs on Saturday morning.
I plan on going for a run on Friday night, so I will be there in spirit.
Jack is going to run too. I'll tell him to leave his grog at home....
Sonia
Well, our weather here in Calgary is a bit cooler than yesterday, but still pretty good ( blue skies, fluffy white clouds, +15C ). I made a forecast for good weather for Sat., but now I'm no longer sure about that. Bring warm jackets just in case!
QUOTE OF THE DAY:
Weather forecast for tonight - dark!
- George Carlin
That's about the only forecast that is a definite.
LOL,
ME xoxoxo
Looks like we're in the middle of a major bloglull.
Maybe we need another contest?
hahahahahahhhahhahahahahahhahahaha
ME
Its Calgary always Prepare for the worst, or wait 5 minutes! You can always remove clothes if you have too much but if you dont have enought well then ...
your COLD!
See you on Saturday!
Happy Birthday, Penny,
There's nothing like a special celebration in the family to bring new life to the blog.
We hope your day is wonderful. We toast your happiness and health as you turn 33. What a nice, young age! May all your wishes come true!
Cheers!!
Louise and David
me - what is the forecast for saturday night in calgary, is it supposed to rain? looking forward to seeing everybody.
hey lucy, how is everything in scotland?
Hi Mike,
The forecast for Saturday is sunny and a high of +12 C.

Happy Birthday Penny!
Good afternoon, Canada, Scotland, United States.
Kenneth
Once again, our family tree reminds us that someone in our midst is celebrating a birthday today.
We hope it's a happy one, for you, Shannon. Sadie and Carmen are sure to have fun helping you blow out your 31 candles.
Cheers to you and to your family on this special day!
Louise and David
Lorraine is looking at a very promising job in Balcarres, Sask (just 92 km from Regina.
Wish us luck.
Thom ... we know Balcarres by name at least and we do wish Lorraine good luck in the application and interview process. What sort of opportunities await you in that area?
Dave and I grasp any chance to toast others with a wee dram...cheers to you and Lorraine tonight!
Luce
Lucy again,
ME ... today the Fife countryside confirmed Camus' comment about autumn turning every leaf into a flower.
Hmmm.
Wow it has been a slow couple of Days on the Blog!
I'm sure that it will pick up again after Tricia Trotter, Trot the walk on Saturday!
Until Next Time...
Go Stamps Go
I mean...
Okay so... How many freudians does it take to change a lightbulb?
Two...One to change the bulb and gee you're getting fat...uh, I mean...one to hold the ladder.
xxoo Marty
Lorraine is flying to Saskatchewan on Tuesday for a second interview for that job in Balcarres. It might not be long before the province has two more residents.
On another note, I can't seem to find my silver music stand. Anybody see one hanging around Regina anywhere?
What do you mean GETTING fat?
Hey Thomas
You're not paranoid, people just think you are.
Kisses and hugs,
Uncle Marty
What do you mean by paranoid?
Light the Night, Tricia's Trotters!

Go Tricia's Trotters!
Tricia's Trotters,
Although we cannot be in Calgary tonight, we are with you all in spirit. We will be thinking of you walking together and hope the event is a huge success.
Love, BJ
Way to go, Tricia's Trotters!
You're at $5,705.00 now with time to spare!
LIGHT THE NIGHT!
Hey All,
Tricia's Trotters have actually raised more than what shows on the site.
Honored to be a part of the team,
ME xoxooxox
Now I have something in my eye!
Oh how I would love to be there with you as you light up the night.
Your site has you at $6,210.00 and climbing.
Love, Lucy
Our candle is already lit. Can you feel its warmth, Tricia's Trotters? The excitement is building as far as the East Sands of Scotland! Cheers!
The excitement has also reached us and we will be lighting up the night in Ottawa. Go, Gang. Tricia's Trotters, triumph!
love, BJ
Go Tricia's Trotters!
oh yeah, and go riders!
Hi Y'all
Went to mary Ellen's last night and it was like another reunion.
Looking so forward to tonight.
Lucy's updates are exciting.
Love, Marty
Hi,
When Marty came over last night, he brought his 2nd & 3rd place MSA miniatures - Lynx and 3 Sisters. When he was getting ready to leave, I told him I had left the front door open and some thief came in and stole them! He wasn't buying that story, so, with regret, I gave them back to him.
You guys want to win these!
GO RIDERS!
Just waiting to go for that "Walk".
See a bunch of you there.
Love,
ME xoxoxoxo
ME ... you are bold to tell all of us want-to-wins the story of the imaginary thief who stole our second and third prizes. You'd have earned first place if Marty had fallen for that story!
Marty ... way to go! I hope you've learned your lesson. Those MSA miniatures should be under lock and key until the rightful winners are named. Send them to me; I'll look after them for you.
Riders ... GO!
Tricia's Trotters ... Go Lightly!
LOLOL, Lucy
Lucy,
"Go Lightly" - how clever. I Love it!
I Also Love Lucy,

Happy 40th Wedding Anniversary,
Mary-Ellen and Bob!
Great is the day that marks four decades of your travelling life's roads together in friendship and love.
Today we celebrate your past achievements, your present plans and your future joys. Cheers!
Lots of love, Louise and David
Happy Birthday, James!
Presley's eyes are sure to light up when she sees 31 candles burning on your cake. Enjoy your special day with family and friends. May all your wishes come true.
Lots of love and good cheer,
Louise and David
We have wakened to this final day of September knowing that Team Tricia's Trotters must have lit up its own corner of the Calgary sky last night in celebration of life and hope.
This morning the web site gives a team total of $6,370 but we will await a posting of the official amount raised when the tally is complete. What an awesome contribution to lifesaving research!
Pizza at home with Tricia, Lou and Marie must have tasted especially good at the end of your Light the Night walk. Team spirit is the best topping of all.
LOL, Lucy
Lucy again,
How about this morning's headline?:
ROUGHRIDERS ROMP OVER ALOUETTES
I know you approve of that one, Thom.
33 - 22 - nice, eh?
Go Riders!
Today is one of many celebrations. We are sure seeing September off with a bang. Oh happy day!
OK, I'll stop soon...
Ed ... the latest adventures of the Pinzano family are very funny.
Love, Luce
I love Lucy
Thank you, Thank you.
You help to make this blog so interesting with all your stats.
I love to check it everyday and find out what is Really going on in "The Family".
Happy birthday James
Coool Balcarras...I helped fix the terazzo floor in there approx-30 years ago.
I CAN"T BELIEVE I FORGOT MARY ELLEN AND BOB'S ANNIVERSARY WAS TODAY!
Karen told me it was coming up.
We just spent last night with her
too.
La La...please accept these two mini paintings of 3 sisters and linxy as a token for my forgetting your anniversary today...oh, wait a minute... I think I may have sent them to Lucy for safe keeping already. Lucy, can you send those to ME when you get them?
LOL and xxxxxxxxxoooooooooo
Marty
Very funny, Marty
When the miniatures get here they will be hung in a very safe place until I .... er .. someone wins them fair and square.
Lucy
Whoa, Marty,
Are you sure you are placing these treasures in the right hands for safe keeping? These are hardly disinterested or objective handlers. In fact, it seems to me a conflict of interest. Surely there are older, wiser and more trustworthy people you could safely leave these valuable paintings with.
Love,
your oldest, wisest and most trustworthy sibling.
Hi,
Its actually Paul here, i couldn't remeber how to sign on so Mom said I could use hers.
Did anyone else watch that golf? I guess people 2nd guessing Weir now will keep quiet!!! Not sure if Tiger could handle the pressure. That was AWESOME, I actually turned down playing golf to watch that. talk to everyone later.
Paul.
Nearly as sweet, or perhaps more so even, than the Rider's romp over La Belle Cité, was Mike Weir's come-from-behind victory over Tiger Woods in Montreal.
Hey guys
I just finished watching the golf,(I taped it earlier), so I have not been able to read the blog until now.
That was the best golf I have seen. Wasn't that fun?
Hey BJ
What was I thinking? Those scoundrels! I'll get on that right away. Thanks for the tip.
Love. your little brother,
Marty
Hey Lucy
Could you send those two paintings back to me when you receive them. I think I forgot to paint one of the whiskers on the cat and I may add a small tree on the left side of the 3 sisters.
Love,
Your little brother,
Marty
Hi All,
I also want to thank everyone who made "Light the Night" so successful.
So to all the members of Tricia's Trotters, I say:
DAMN YOU'RE GOOD!
Much love,
ME xoxoxoxoxox
the walk with tricia's trotters was very exciting. along with all the other participents. thanks for the hospitality lui, marie and tricia.
thomas - the bombers will beat the lions, and i heard tiger let mike weir win, because they had the thing wrapped up and he thought it would be a nice thing to do, playing in canada and all.
Sorry Marty,
You're up that small tree if you think you have a whisker of a chance of getting your miniatures back!
Luce
LOLOL, Lucy
Lucy, again
Hi everyone,
I also wanted to say a huge thank you to Uncle Lui and Auntie Marie and Tricia for their hospitality after the Light the Night walk. It was wonderful to see everyone and I was honoured to walk alongside Trica and all of our family!
Love you all!
Cousin Barbara
Lorraine is winging her way to Regina as we speak.
Fingers crossed
Congrats to everyone who participated in the walk!
Good luck to Lorraine, here's to hoping the population of Saskatchewan increases by 2 in the near future!
Thanks Sonia. I suspect it's pretty close to being a done deal. Usually employers don't fly you in for an interview if they're not pretty sure about it.
Thomas, are we the only ones left on the blog. We have the only entries for Oct 2!
Sonia
Have we ever gone a day without an entry?
It has been pretty sparse pickings on the old blog of late.
Here's some news that could (I hope) generate some activity: Lorraine got the job in Balcarres. Looks like we'll be moving to Saskatchewan in November.
Hey Mike, do you deal with rental properties? We're looking for a house in (or near) Fort Qu'appelle.
Thom, I spoke to friends in Regina and if you are serious about speaking to someone at the Leader-Post send me your resume and I will forward it on. It speaks for itself so all you need is an introduction.
Thanks, Lui, all I'm looking for is an introduction, I will get you my C.V. by the end of the week.
Coooooool....
Marty
Hoe exciting, Thomas! We're looking forward to seeing more of you!
Congratulations, Lorraine!
By the way, Bob was born in Balcarres, and grew up in Fort Qu'Appelle. What a coincidence!
Bob & I wish you both lots of happiness. Enjoy the beautiful Qu'Appelle Valley!
QUOTE OF THE DAY:
Saskatchewan is much like Texas - except it's more friendly to the United States.
-Adlai Stevenson
Love,

thomas - i don't deal in rental properties, but i'll check with a couple of people. good luck with the move.
uncle mike
Thomas, Jamie says there is more to rent in Lipton, if that interests you.
Cheers and lots of love,
Louise and David
Lou ... thanks for being at the gate in Calgary as I arrived back on Canadian soil yesterday afternoon.
Lots of love, Louise
Thom and Lorraine,
That's good news coming from you. We'll be watching for updates on your move to Saskatchewan. Good luck at every turn!
Luce
Thanks Luce, we're kind of excited about it, despite all the crap involved in moving. The good thing is the Sask health authority is paying for it so we should just be able to call up a moving company and have them do all the work. Of course, we will need to have an address for them to deliver to.
Happy Birtday, Brandon!
Love,
ME
xoxoxo
Thomas, Jamie says check Zehner or Edenwold. Also, if you and Uncle Mike see a house for sale that you like, let us know - we could buy it and rent it to you if you'd like (we have a rental business).
Holly, very interesting, we'll take it under advisement. Then, if we decide we're going to stay, we can buy it from you.
Where is everybody? I'm just posting so that we don't have postless day!
I was holding off just to see if we would have a postless day. Way to go, Holly, keeping the bog alive.
GO RIDERS!!!!!!
Lucy here,
This has been a day of transition for Mom here in Regina. Vic went back to Saskatoon this afternoon after a month of providing top-notch personal care, preparing quality meals and maintaining a bright, clean environment .... all for Mom's good health and general well-being.
If there were such a thing as blogapplause, Vic would be getting a standing ovation.
Take a bow, Vic!
Cheers!
Louise and David
07/10/07 ...
Today's date has a nice RING to it ... on this seventh day/ award a perfect ten/ in 2007 to one terrific couple.
Happy 35th Wedding Anniversary,
Deanie and Edward!
Enjoy your day which (so appropriately) falls on this weekend of thanksgiving.
Cheers and lots of love,
Louise and David
Lucy here,
"The Mom" tells me that today is the Feast of the Holy Rosary. She is thinking of all the rosaries she has prayed over the years and all the fimo versions she has given to family, friends and even to strangers. This is a day of great remembering for her.
Say one for her!
Hi, Deanie and Ed,
Mom has asked me to put a special posting on the blog to wish you a happy anniversary from her!
So, Happy 35th, with love and prayers from Mom.
Hey Lucy,
Thanks for the good wishes for Thanksgiving. Same back to you & Mom, and the whole family, wherever they are. We celebrated it yesterday with turkey & all the trimmings. Lots to be grateful for.
QUOTE OF THE DAY:
As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words but to live by them.
- John Fitzgerald Kennedy
Have a great day everyone!
LOL,
ME xoxoxo
GO RIDERS, GO!
ME ... once again, you have found a quote that is perfect for the occasion. Saying "thank you", sincerely and often, leads to "an attitude of gratitude".
Chris and Ron are going to deliver a thanksgiving meal to Mom and me this afternoon. We'll have it after we watch the football game on CBC. Oh happy day!
GO, RIDERS, GO!
LOL, Lucy
Oh I am so far behind.
Thank you.
Happy Thanksgiving! Go Riders!
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving, Canadian Thanksgivers.
I wish I were at home stuffing instead of in the office working.
Ride 'Em!
The pleasure was all ours, Tricia, whether we were on the road beside you or being buoyed by your spirit from afar.
Thanks for posting today. Grandma and I were wondering about you as we sat down to enjoy our thanksgiving lunch. You must have read our thoughts.
Love, Louise and Grandma

Riders 6 Stamps 7
That was ba.a.a.a.d! The Stampeders haven't run the ball back like that since 2003. Come back onto the field, Riders!

That's the answer I was looking for!
Go, Riders, Go!

A TD would have been nicer but we'll take the field goal. That's 3 for 3 today!
Riders 19 Stamps 7
Four for four! And that's only the first half of the game.
Riders 22 Stamps 7
I spoke too soon. That's 5 for 5.

Riders 30 Stamps 21
That was a point hardly worth making.

I didn't even see that happen!
Luce
Well, that's it. With this 33 to 21 victory over Calgary, Saskatchewan is number 2 in the west. Look out BC....here we come!
Go, Riders!
Lucy
Thanks for the score-by-score accounting Lucy. I didn't watch the game, but would check the blog now & then to see what was happening. I almost felt like I was at the game!
Thanks for your post, Tricia, and for inspiring our team. It was an honor to be a part of the walk, and great fun seeing so many friendly faces. I hope you & your family enjoyed your dinner tonight.
We give thanks for you.

I'm off to bed soon the Turkey is making me sleepy!
Blog you soon!
Careful what you say about the Lions MOM, Even Bjorn knows what a Loins says GGGRRRRR!!!
And the Lions have one of the best QB's in the league.
I say Lions Win 27 - 7
If you guys manage to kick the extra point.
GO LIONS GO
Good night!
Go, Riders!
Love, Lucy
I'm starting to get really blogged down again.
...I have a strange feeling that some of my sisters are in town or approaching cowtown...ahh, maybe it's just me...
Marty
Later,
ME xoxoxoxoxoxo
happy thanksgiving everybody.
loved your play by play luce. even though i did'nt read it until today.
its nice to hear from you tricia, hope your doing well
love mike
Good night, all!
LOLOL, Lucy
Lucy here,
I see that Tricia's Trotters are posting a total of $7,770 raised for the Light the Night walk.
Mike ... how's that for a lucky number?
Well done!
Afternoon, everybody.
I hope you'll excuse the shameless blogjacking...
It all starts here:
