August 01/09

Looks like this blog survived another month, so here we go again. There could be some activity today with two anniversaries, Happy Anniversary to Ron and Chris and Happy Anniversary to David and Louise. Next year we can add a third. We send out congratulations to Cory and Amy who are "Taking the plunge" today.

I'll leave you with some lyrics I sent to Cory and Amy, seeing as Cory's a Dylan fan.

May your heart always be joyful, May your song always be sung... May you stay forever young.

Love to all "Who have sailed with me"

Ed

Happy August, everybody.

And Happy Anniversaries Ron and Chris and David and Louise.

And Congratulations to Cory and Amy!

I think Anniversaries are the best events to celebrate. Anybody can have a birthday. Christmas and New Years will happen with or without us. But an Anniversary means that someone special inspires you to be agreeable enough to live with! (An accomplishment for some of us).

Happy August First.
I like Edward's quotation.
And I like Kenneth's take on anniversaries.
Happy Anniversary David and Lucy, and Chris and Ron.
Congratulations to Cory and Amy.
Long live the Blog.

That's an awesome August entry, Edward. Thanks.

We add our wishes to Ron and Christine who already share this anniversary with us.

Welcome aboard August 1st, Cory and Amy. We're just 39 years ahead of you.

BTW...Kenneth, we agree with your comments about anniversaries.

Lots of love, Louise and David

Best wishes to all who are celebrating today:

Louise and Dave
Chris and Ron
Cory and Amy

My quote for this day (taken from Spock himself):

"Live Long and Blog"

Love,
Marty

BJ said...

Marty,
I like your quote way better than my "Long live the Blog". Way to go!

marty antonini said...

Hey BJ

When I read your quote I actually thought you quoted Spock, (I'm kinda crosseyed in the morning),so you actually gave me the idea, so it's really Your quote.

You go girl!

Love,
Marty

Thanks for all the anniversary wishes! Paul, David and I had a wonderful day of travel and golf which ended with a terrific supper at a local restaurant. Cheers!

BJ . . . is it possible that ME has added a new word to our blog lexicon? BLOGARIOUS? Even if it's already on the list, it tickles my funny bone.

MANOR WE DODGE!

LOL, Lucy

BJ said...

Lucy,
Yes, blogarious is a new word for the Blexicon and has already been added.

Happy Anniversary, Marie and Lui. We hope your 41st is at least as full and satisfying as our 39th was - just two days ago. Cheers!

Happy Birthday Brandon Mazerall wherever you are on this, your 20th birthday. We're toasting you in sunny British Columbia with thoughts of your mom, too, in rural Saskatchewan. Hi Lorraine and Thom!

Cheers to you, Brandon; best wishes all year long.

Hi Dana and Brandon,
I hope you got yesterday's anniversary message on your telephone. The computer at our hotel was being serviced so we were not able to sign onto the blog.

We're visiting Alan, Melissa and Bjorn tonight and their computer is just fine. We hope your fourth anniversary was happy and the coming year sends even more joy your way.

Cheers and lots of love,
Louise and David

Happy 14th birthday, Jacob. Have a great time with family and friends today.

I hope to catch up on all you family's summer happenings when I come to Regina during the first week of September. See you then!

Best wishes on turning 14 today.

So . . . how was the 40th anniversary gathering in Regina on the 8th? Was it really a surprise?

BJ said...

I had an email from Therese, and she said they were really surprised. Partly because their anniversary is in November, and partly because everyone was so good at keeping it a secret. I guess it was really a lot of fun. Marty played and some of the others got up and sang.(does that surprise you?!) Wish we could have been there.

Louise and David said...

Thanks, BJ! You've answered my questions as fully as if you had been there yourself. Wouldn't that have been "the icing on the cake"?

I haven't been on the blog for a while but I can say that Tony and Carol were very surprised to the point of being overwhelmed. I can't remember all who came, there were so many, but I will mention that Marcia made it extra special and surprised more than a few of us. It was great to see Tricia and Lui. Eric came down from Saskatoon with Lindy and Sandy and they had a terrific time. Marty played the piano with many of the crowd getting up to sing along, even Heather got up to sing with Marty. We had a great time, the kids had done a wonderful job of setting it up and had an area in the park behind the house set up for the evening. I don't believe it could have been any better.

Lots of love

Edward

Louise and David said...

Wow . . . it sounds like that was quite a gathering, Edward. Thanks for painting a wonderful word picture of that very special night in Carol and Tony's life.
Love, Louise

Happy Birthday, Bob

At 71, you are a few years ahead of us on life's road so we have no insight to offer into negotiating your seventh decade. What we do know is that you will make the best of it and live life to the full.

Have a great Saturday birthday and another good year.

Cheers and lots of love,
Louise and David

Happy Birthday, Dad!

Big plans for the day?

Happy Birthday, Justin!

We hope you are having a grand 17th birthday with family and friends in Regina.

We noticed that the digits of your age are the reverse of your Uncle Bob Barker, who celebrated 71 years yesterday. May you, too, enjoy a life of international adventures, career successes and enduring family love.

Cheers and best wishes,
Louise and David

Louise and David said...

Okay. . . now who has a play-by-play of Saturday night's celebration on the 50 yard line?

LOL, Lucy

BJ said...

I agree with Lucy. Let's have the replay!

Louise and David said...

Happy 50th Birthday, Len!

We're sorry we missed all the action on Saturday night. We hope your team of family and friends carried you over the 50 yard line with surprise and excitement.

Congratulations on this Golden birthday! Go forward in good health and happiness. Cheers!

Luv ya, rah, rah, rah!

Happy 21st Birthday, Mary!

Yesterday, we read on Facebook that you were celebrating your own "New Year's Eve". That's a clever way to make a special occasion last more than the usual 24 hours.

We hope you and your friends had fun ringing in a day of great promise. May this August 18th birthday be the beginning of another year filled with joy, music and dance.

Cheers, best wishes and lots of love,
Louise and David

Louise and David said...

And speaking of Facebook . . . be sure to have a look at Christine's latest photo album posted there. She has captured lots of the action at Len's 50th, right down to a cake that looked so much like a real football that it might have been thrown rather than eaten.

I love all the people shots, especially the one of 6 brothers and a nephew making music together.

Thanks for the pix, Christine!

Love Lucy

Louise and David said...

Happy Birthday, Kelly!

So. . . today you are following Len across the 50 yard line (probably with a lot less fanfare, though). Have a great Saturday birthday, however you decide to celebrate this "golden" event.

Cheers and lots of love,
Louise and David

Louise and David said...

Happy Birthday, Karen!

We hope your Saturday celebration spills over into the entire weekend to make this 48th birthday an extra-special occasion for you.

Cheers to you!

Love and best wishes,
Louise and David

Lots of love, Louise

Happy Birthday, Chris!

Your Sunday birthday is sure to be a family affair with Jamie and Tess on hand to share in the celebration.

Tonight we'll raise a toast to you at 32, Chris - may this birthday be a good one and may the coming year hold much promise and happiness for you and those you love.
