I'm going to say I waited until after lunch to start a new post because you all would have thought I was playing a joke earlier. OK, I forgot, actually I was too wrapped up in Lou's puzzle to post.
Here is one to start off April.

Great job Ed, but the gardener is John Lennon himself.
In the song Empty Garden, Elton John at one point says "...a gardener like that one, no can replace."
He was, of course, referring to Lennon. I'm sure everyone knows Empty Garden was a song about Lennon's murder.
Great work!!
Of course...I like it. Nice song, I forgot all about it.
If I had a million dollars....hmmmm, was such a good clue I didn't even think about the gardener, Ringo's Octopus's Garden came to mind so fast I stopped wondering. If I had done my usual research I would have come up with Madison Square, the Garden where Elton and John performed together.
Great clues.
Ditto to what Lui said, so I will post my comment again, too.
You guys are fantastic. Great clues, great solutions. I am in awe!
And I am still laughing out loud at Ed's narrative on solving the Blondie clues. I hope you keep setting puzzles. It is so much fun!
I thought I'd move my puzzle to here.

Happy Anniversary Mona and Stephen,
You will probably not often have to share this anniversary day with Good Friday remembrances. By tradition this is generally a day of reflection and thanksgiving in the lead up to the joy of Easter Sunday.
Come to think of it, that attitude fits right in with an anniversary celebration, too.
May you share happy memories of the first five years of your marriage and be filled with thanks as you look ahead to the good things that the future has in store for you. Cheers!
Congratulations, best wishes and lots of love,

You already know that you are in our thoughts and prayers today as you mark 54 years of marriage. Congratulations.
It's nice to think of you there St. Andrews in your Steading home cutting one of Peggy's famous coffee cakes in celebration of this special event. We are with you in spirit for sure!

Ed,
SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND.
Sorry Betty Jo,
It's not SGT PEPPER'S. There's a lot of people there but this guy isn't on that one.
Ed, are you he?
One August Night?
Hey! Awesome, yes...I gave you Dion to lead you to the Wanderer. I figured you'd thesaurus to the Drifters and that would lead you to Up On The Roof. That's where I was....One August Night.
We're not done:
Song Title...
2015, Hollywood's Hamilton, According to, Japanese apple, Diana's man.
Ed you are funny!!
In order to get the answer I have to answer as if I was you.
Because the answer is "When I'm 64" by The Beatles.
Way too fast. I figured that was too easy. Ok. A little tougher this time:
I find this often when we play this game...W.
You guys are awesome!
P.S.
BTW, will one of you explain the clues to the "64" answer?
BJ
Ed will be 64 in 2015
Hollywood's Hamilton is George
According to is a reference to the Bible as in according to John.
There is a Ringo apple type in Japan, and
Diana's man is Paul (Anka)
So you have the Beatles who sand "When I'm 64"
Neat Eh!
What!!!
Let me explain.
2015...Yes...When I'm 64
Hollywood's Hamilton...Linda, who starred in the Terminator with Arnold Swarizitz, well, you know, who rallied with GEORGE Bush in '88.
According to...Jim, a tv series starring Jim Belushi who had a brother JOHN
A Japanese apple... RINGO...Ok. I didn't think Lou knew Japanese
Diana is the goddess of the moon in Roman Mythology, worship of Diana is mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles because Ephesian metal smiths were threatened by St. PAULs preaching of Christianity
George, John, Ringo and Paul...The Beatles
I like Lou's better
It took me longer to come up with that than it did for Lou to get my clues.
Lui and Ed,
'Neat' just doesn't cover it. Mind-blowing is more like it. Thanks for both explanations. Love it.
BTW Why can't these lovers go gently down the stream? Song title wanted. And way, way easier than any of yours. I'm just trying to keep the ball rolling.
Ed you are hilarious!
I think you got your funny bone crunched a few too many times.
BJ, would it be because they are "Islands in the Stream"?
Kenny and Dolly
How about.....
When you see the days fly by the way they do, you most certainly know that this cannot be true. I gather you may get this one if you think about the north side.
Lui,
No, not even close.

THOSE WERE THE DAYS?
Perhaps I should have said why can't they row, row, row their boat?
Geez Lou,
I was hoping you were going to get Betty Jo's. I can't make anything fit, it's just a guess when I say "River Deep Mountain High" Ike and Tina Turner. It doesn't fit but Ike and Tina couldn't row gently down Wascana Creek
Maybe I should have said roll, roll, roll.
Sorry BJ not right.
I'm like you Ed, I can't get BJ's either. Lots of ideas but nothing really fits right.
See BJ, it seems so obvious when you know the answer but if your looking at it from the other side it can be difficult......until something clicks.
This one is probably easy for me because I'm crazy about this singer. I still can't figure out yours, and you know way more songs than I do.
Lui,
TIME STAND STILL by Rush?
Didn't you hear me say I'm CRAZY about this songstress?
I went down to Wascana Creek just to see if I could get some ideas for Betty Jo's song. Sure enough there were three guys getting a boat ready to go fishing. I thought...this should be interesting, they can't row out there, the water is frozen...but these guys cut a large hole in the ice to put their boat in, then struggled to drag their boat across the snow and ice, that's when I thought it would be easier if the boat had wheels. Is the answer to your clue... AIN'T NO WHEELS ON THIS SHIP by Patsy Cline?
You still have ice on Wascana lake? (It was 29 degrees here yesterday). Lucky for you, though because it gave you the right answer. And lucky for me, too because I love your explanations better than the answers. Patsy is one of my favorite singers.
BJ, sometimes the reason you are not getting an answer is because the players have been away fo a while. Don't give it away so fast.
In this case, however, it was because I had no idea so I appreciated the extra clue. Your first one was subtle and would likely have been sufficient.
Your last clue gave me a good laugh.
On a sombre note, Tricia's friend Ryan finally passed away during the night last night.
Tasha and Tricia have spent a lot of time with him at the hospice lately and Tricia said she knows he was in a good frame of mind when he went. She said she was part way there a number of times when she was in ICU and it is a good place.
Even as prepared as they all were it is going to be difficult for them in the coming days and weeks.
BJ, what do you see more of on the north side?
Lou,
Sorry to hear about Ryan, my heart goes out to all who knew him.
On a lighter note. Your clue was, we know this certainly can not be true. We know it has something to do with time so "Time Passes Slowly" works, I figured 'I gather' was also part of the clue and if you thesaurus that you come up with the Association whose first contract with Valiant records yielded a version of Bob Dylan's "One to Many Mornings". Bob was born in Duluth, Minnesota which is located on the North side of Lake Superior. TIME PASSES SLOWLY by Bob Dylan works although, in this case I think it's TIME IS ON MY SIDE by the Rolling Stones
FURTHER SEEMS FOREVER Aurora Borealis?
Yes Ed, I was looking for "Time is on My Side" by the Rolling Stones.
Of course moss grows thicker on the north side and we know a rolling stone gathers no moss. Great work!
Try this one!!
How about the butterfles? What a gem!
Man, playing with the big boys is tough. How about Black,Red,Yellow (monarch butterflies) by Pearl Jam (gem).
or how about Ruby Tuesday (who needs to be free, like butterflies are free)
Sorry BJ both are wrong.
The butterflies were actually part of a very very very common saying. Somewhere along the way they were left off.

Hi Betty Jo,
I've been celebrating Easter, Deanie gave me a basket full of plastic eggs and a few bags of candy with instructions to fill and hide them. There's only so many hiding places in the house, the basket contained 83 eggs so the task took me a while. Now, this is the month the government man wants me to report, the form they send me is always in Greek, which really bugs me, I'll be back in May.

You are obviously feeling sorry for me.
"Light my Fire" by the Doors
Now I'm laughing, ok...try this...
Almost 100. What? Who? Who?
"96 Tears" ? and the Mysterians
Thanks Ed, I didn't even need to look it up!!
How about this Ed:
You know and I don't, so? Apple Ipod? - No, way before that.
Easy...the Commodores?
Lou
It could possibly be 'No Reply'...the Beatles
During one of their recording sessions the Beatles each recorded a new song, George recorded 'You Know What to Do' John recorded 'No Reply'
The Beatles formed Apple Records years before Apple computers or the Ipod
???
You got the Apple I was looking for and the fact that the Beatles started Apple records way back.
The song in not right however. If you know the reason and I don't then I would appreciate it.
Tell Me Why... No, no, don't tell me why... that's my answer.
Yes, yes Tell Me Why, why you would post at 11:50 at night and then again at 5:42 in the morning, are you an insomniac? No, that is not another puzzle.
I was waiting to see if my answer was right.
I'm not an insomniac, I haven't thought people were after me for a long time.
If I give you:
The family, a lot, Davy, sesame and a motor car. What do ya get?

Ed:
I get lots of TV viewing for kids:
The Brady Bunch
The Monkeys
Sesame Street
Herbie the Love Bug
Are you keeping the grandchildren entertained?
LOL, Lucy
I am keeping the grandchildren entertained but that's not what I get. Sorry.
Edward,
You're talking funny again. I can't figure out what you mean at all.
Geez, a lot of people say that.
It looks like you need some help with my quiz.
I was waiting for a guess from Lou but I know he's busy this time of year.
I can tell you that it's the entire family, Davy was a U.S. congressman, and Louise is on the right street.
Hey Ed, I'm busy but the only reason I haven't guessed is because I'm drawing a blank. I have been trying to come up with something ever since you put it up. I just can't seem to come up with anything. I think Davy might be Davy Crockett but I'm not sure what we're looking for. Is it a song or something else?
I am sure it is Davy Crockett, Lui, but in what connection? And the Louise clue has me completely baffled. Somebody...help!
It's a song, even though the answer is a line from the song.
The first two clues are the song, the next three are the performer and the last is the for the line from the song.
You're right about Davy, you're missing the street character, and one of the most interesting facts about the family.
Get your boot ready Lou.
Tony is coming over this morning, I'll give it to him and see what coaxing I have to do to get him the answer.
I think it is the Muppet family from Sesame Street singing one of their songs, but I don't know which one. Am I even warm?
