July 2

Isn't Canada Day great, people flock to the parks by the thousands to share their pride and love for Canada. Too bad they don't think enough of it to take their garbage when they leave.

Have a great day

Happy Belated Canada Day. I wished it on the June blog, but nobody came, so better late than never.

Thanks for the July entry, Ed. I'm expecting lots of action on the blog as reunion plans unfold. Let's fill the slate with fun stuff in the lead up to August 23rd. Is anyone else as excited as I am?

Like you, BJ, I tacked our Canada Day greeting and Tess's birthday wishes onto the end of the June posting. Luckily, it's easy to go back and catch up on any of the action on Ed's Edition since its beginning in 2007. Amazing!

Here's to seven years of blogging and blurking. DAMN WE'RE GOOD! or should that be MEND RODEO WAG?

Hi Ed, Like Ron & I, you must have gone for a walk near the legislative building July 2. I agree that the garbage was disturbing. The good news is that our park usually looks so beautiful! 'Makes you realize how much work the maintenance crews must do. I agree with you, Louise, that it would be fun to hear some of what people are anticipating for August. I can just hardly wait to see all 13 of you all at once. It's a special gift - especially when there are so many of us. Dad would be delighted and Mom overwhelmed. I think I'm a little of both!

We have poured ourselves a wee dram to join the July 4 festivities of our USA relatives and friends. We're making it a double as we toast your good health and happiness on your 38th birthday. May you enjoy many happy returns of this day.

Cheers and lots of love,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARIE!

Congratulations! We hope your Sunday celebration is a perfect fit for you. If you want relaxation, kick back and take it easy. If you want fun, surround yourself with family and friends to share the occasion. It's the weekend and it's your day; so do as you please.

Here in St. Andrews we're enjoying sunshine, summer and excellent TV coverage of the Men's final at Wimbledon. Life doesn't get much better than this. It's fun for us to add the celebration of your birthday to the fullness of this moment in our lives.

May you enjoy many happy returns of this day. Cheers!

Lots of love and warm wishes,

I just found out some one has hacked into my email account and I can no longer send messages. If any of you are getting messages from me they're not from me. SaskTel are cleaning it up for me and I should be ready to go by the end of the day.

I had a similar thing happen to me, Ed. Now, whenever I want to send an email, I have to decipher and duplicate one of those wiggly codes before my message will go.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHRISTINE!

What a nice way to start a brand new week - with a birthday celebration! We know that it will probably be a team effort with Presley and Corson pitching in to make this day special for the whole family.

We hope you have the kind of day that brings you joy in the present moment and happy memories in the future. Cheers!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RON!

Congratulations! Your age is easy for us to remember since you "achieve" it just three weeks before Louise reaches the same milestone at the end of the month.

We hope you're having exactly the kind of celebration that you would choose for a special occasion. Here in St. Andrews, we are getting into the spirit of things, too - pun intended, if you know what we mean. Cheers!

Love and warm wishes,
Louise and David

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PAUL!

Greetings across the miles on your 39th! This is the first time that you and Ghie are able to be together to celebrate your birthday. In fact, we hear that she is preparing a special meal at home, for the two of you to share with a couple of close friends. Enjoy!

We would sure love to be there to mark this occasion with you. Instead, we will have to be satisfied with a warm to salute you across the miles.

Here's to your happiness today and to many more such shared celebrations in the future. Cheers!

Lots of love,
Mom and Dad

LATE BIRTHDAY WISHES go out to two of our family members who celebrated birthdays yesterday, July 13. Somehow, Sunday got away on us. Our greetings are a day late but they are warm and sincere.

Best wishes to you, Kelly, on your 34th birthday. May you enjoy many more such happy celebrations, with Dustin and Thomas there to share all those special occasions with you. Cheers!

We also want to wish four-year-old Parker another year of healthy growth and wonderful childhood discoveries.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BRIAN!

We hope your Friday birthday is just the beginning of a weekend of celebrations with family and friends.

Here in Scotland we are watching TV coverage of this year's Open Championship. It is the golfing highlight of the year. One of the players is celebrating his birthday today, too. You are in our thoughts as we celebrate with those who will make the cut on this second day on the links.

Cheers! May you and Michele get to celebrate many happy returns of this special day!

Love and warm wishes,

HAPPY ANNIVRSARY, BETTY JO AND BOB!

Fifty-two sounds more like someone's age than the number of years that you've been married to one another. It's a lifetime. Congratulations!

We think this calls for a celebratory toast with a wee dram of fine single-malt scotch. We just happen to have a modest selection of brands from the distilleries of Islay. We'll pour ourselves a double from our favourite island distillery, Bruichladdich, to salute the two of you today.

Here's to the years gone by,... to the moments of this happy day ... and to all good times that the future holds for you. Cheers!

Lots of love,
Louise and David

I am sorry that I misspelled anniversary in our greetings to you, BJ and Bob. As you know, there is no going back once a posting has been made. Do have a happy day!

BJ said...

Dear Lucy and David,
Thank you for the lovely greetings. You always know exactly what to say, and we appreciate it very much.
No apology needed about the spelling. The eye sees what it expects, and until you pointed it out I hadn't noticed it.
We are also pleased to hear you are using a scotch from your favorite distillery for our toast. Enjoy, on our account!

Love, Bob and BJ

Louise and David said...

You are very welcome, BJ and Bob. The pleasure was all ours, I assure you. In fact, we opened a small bottle containing scotch that was drawn in May 2014, from our very own cask at Bruichladdich. The scotch is only 4 years old but we think it is well on its way to being a perfect 10 for our golden wedding celebration in 2020.

Love, Lucy

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SHAWN!

We think this birthday may have a special feel to it because of little Sydney Mary Marie's arrival in April. Could you even have imagined the joy that she would bring into your life?

That's how your own parents felt 39 years ago today when you were born. And guess what? The love just grows and grows with each passing year.

We hope this 39th birthday is one of your happiest ever. May there be many more such celebrations for you to share with Tina and Sydney. Cheers!

Lots of love and warm wishes,
Louise and David

Congratulations1 Our Book of Days suggests a gift of CHINA to mark a twentieth anniversary. Such a precious token is a symbol of craftsmanship, beauty and durability. We thinik it really is appropriate for a marriage of twenty years.

We wish you a happy time with family and friends who are sharing this celebration with you. May you enjoy many happy returns of this day. Cheers!

I can really understand the question being asked in the Quote of the Day, too. How did I get so lucky as to have six sisters when others don't have any?

ANNIVERSARY GREETINGS, ANGIE AND NATHAN!

Congratulations on your first wedding anniversary which you celebrated yesterday. We're sorry we missed posting greetings on the blog to mark this very special day in your lives.

We remember receiving pictures of the two of you with Ryanne, taken on the day you were married. We hope the joy of that day has filled the first year of your marriage to one another. May it become the happiness of a lifetime together.

We have no trouble at all remembering your first of August anniversary. In fact, we think it's especially nice that we share this wedding date with you.

Congratulations! We know that you will treat yourselves to a special celebration to mark the 27 years of life you've shared together.

We like the way the two of you look back on the milestones of your lives and take time to highlight them in the present moment. Such rituals make a day like today a fond memory for the future.

Here's to the 27 years gone by and to the many more that are yet to come. Cheers!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, AMY AND CORY!

Congratulations! Isn't this a popular date for getting married? Today you are celebrating 5 years while Christine and Ron are marking 27, and Dave and I are toasting 44. In fact, we'll make that a triple!

Our Book of Days suggests a gift of WOOD on a fifth anniversary. Wood stands new life, change and durability - all qualities of a happy relationship that leads to strong family ties.

We know that Norah and Simone will be sharing the joy of this special day with you. Have a day that is filled with fun for all the family. May you enjoy many, many more such celebrations together. Cheers!

Lots of love,

Thank you Louise. You are so diligent in posting everyone's celebrations. We have enjoyed the day and hope you enjoyed yours.
We are also looking forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks and have things planned so we can meet our Italian relatives and spend some time with you as well.
Luigi will be staying at our place.
Dinner is planned at our place Saturday, in the park, I think it was the fourth of July.
Oh sorry I thought I was reviving the contest and it got away on me.
See you in a couple of weeks!

Louise and David said...

You're welcome, Lui! Bob's family calendar keeps me right up-to-date on those special occasions.

Thanks for mentioning plans for our brief stopover in Calgary en route to the reunion. We are really looking forward to that pre-Regina get-together. It is sure to hype up the anticipation for the August 23 convergence at Campion College.

Dave and I are "Regina bound" tomorrow morning via Italy for three days with Luigi and Francesca's families. All four of us will fly from Venice to Vancouver on the 9th. We're on our way!

(BTW, I love your sense of humour even though your contest clues go right over my head.)

Lots of love!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JACOB!

We're sure that your whole Regina family will make your Thursday, August 7th birthday a happy one for you. A pool party might be the perfect way to celebrate, right there in your own back yard.

We will be remembering your special day as we visit with relatives in Italy. In fact, we're bringing two of them with us when we come to Regina in August. We'll see you there!
In the meantime, have a really great 18th birthday.

Warm wishes and lots of love,
