ANTONINI REUNION....TAKE THREE

Here we go again. My plan is to bring part two up to six hundred and then the number of posts will be easier to keep track of. Within a few days we will be within one month of the date.

I think everything is going pretty smoothly. We have the student lounge at Campion on the 25th from 12:00 until 10:00. The plan is for each family to bring their own drinks and snacks for the day. I think Vic is bringing some candied popcorn and there are plans for a rice crispie cake. I expect some Italian Confetti as well. The Wok Box is now up and running and we will have them deliver us a meal around 5:30 or 6:00. There are vending machines in the lounge and a water fountain as well. The restrooms are a good size and just down the hall. I believe we all have Marcia's request for denim and white dress. Therese has the performances set and the day is set for visiting.

Sunday the 26th we have the hall at Holy Rosary Cathedral from 12:00 until 5:00. You are welcome to join mom for the 11:00 mass before hand. The CWL will cater with sandwiches, coffee and juice. Cathedral Bakery is making up a cake or two for mom for the day.

If there are any questions or if there is something else you can think of that I have missed let me know and I'll look after it.

See you soon.

Ed

Good morning Canada,

Love that greeting (Thanks BJ)

I'll be tracking your progress Thom, I had to look for McBride but the rest all share memories in this photographic memory brain of mine. When I saw them on your list I remembered. We've spent at least a night in each place. Thursday looks like a long haul, but as you get closer the excitement will spur you on, enjoy the drive, see you soon.

ed said...

As the predictions fall I start pulling for the next on the list, the deadline is Thursday evening, depending on how many entries we get at 11:59:59, Tricia, Sonia and Rob all have a pretty good chance. It will be who ever pushes their publish button last, although because of the blog time most will be sleeping, I'll likely be up tweeking the lines on my kite trying to finish it for it's big flight.

I'm off to work, damn boss, every time we finish a job he comes up with another.

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

"Well," said Pooh, "what I like best.." and then he had to stop and think. Because although "Eating Honey" was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it, which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called.

Hey Pooh, I think it may be ANTICIPATION.

Hey everyone, we're on our way. Dennis and I will be in Saskatoon tonight. A mini-reunion to warm up for the big event. See you Friday.

Marcia

PS. I promise not to eat ALL the popcorn.

Yes, Thom,
My latest riddle was too obvious for solving but important in its posting as our reunion weekend draws near.

Think of the woman who is at the center of our celebrations! Every one is coming to spend time with a:
MOTHER, GRANDMA, GREAT-GRANDMA, GREAT GREAT-GRANDMA, SISTER, SISTER-IN-LAW, AUNT, COUSIN, FRIEND....... IN HER 90TH YEAR.

And SHE knows it!

What we are anticipating with such excitement, is overwhelming for this wonderful woman in our lives. She wants to be there for each and every one of us this weekend.

Let us love her by our thoughtful presence whenever she is in our midst.

My next riddle fits nicely here:

RHYMING BLOGWORDS, WISDOM GRAND..
SIMPLY STATED - TAKE IT NICE AND...

Love, Louise

Good afternoon Canada.
Lucy, Great job on the riddles. How do you do that? I hope they keep coming right to the eleventh hour.
Ed, It will be fun to see what the final number of entries is at the eleventh hour.
Mary-Ellen,
Pooh's quote has always been one of my favorites. I think of it before any grand event.
Thomas,
Safe trip, (and I would be neglecting my job as a mother if I didn't add "drive carefully, and get some rest.")
Marcia,
Since you will be in Saskatoon, you will have to be part of the production line of the popcorn, not the consumption of same.
Marty,
4500????!! LOL
Love, BJ

Just 5 more hours and I'm on the road.

And yes, mom, I will drive carefully and get some rest. Are you listening Justin? I'm 44 years old and it still hasn't stopped.

Gotta love Pooh.

My favourite is:

I'm just a little black rain cloud
Hovering under the honey tree
I'm just a little black rain cloud
Pay no attention to little me

Lucy here,
This morning when I took transferred a load of laundry from the washer to the dryer, I noticed that the last user had not cleaned the lint screen.

I said right out loud, "You did that on purpose, Dad!" and I blinked back a forming tear.

Later, when I told Mom about having to empty the lint screen she asked with a grin: "Did it make you think of Dad?"

Laughing Lucy

Louise and David said...

BJ ... the riddles just keep on coming. As Thomas would say it's... easy peasy!

Marcia ... you shouldn't have told us that you'd be tasting the popcorn ahead of time. Have you warned Vic, too?

Mike ... blogtries ... I like that. BJ is probably already working on Blexicon II in the wake of the success of her first edition.

ME ... we're loving your daily quotations; each is so timely and a perfect fit. DAMN YOU'RE GOOD!

ME..What a quote. It deserves it's own comment. I think it's great, I've never heard the quote before but I've definitely had the feeling.

I haven't been a Pooh guy, Eddie likes super heroes, Mia's into princesses and fairies, Lui likes whatever Eddie or Mia like at the time so maybe I can swing Ellie toward Pooh. Or, maybe I'll just have to read him to myself. Does that count as a book Lucy.

ed said...

Whoa! Marcia's getting close, I'm not saying I'm spiderman but my senses are tingling.

ed said...

Nice riddle Lucy. I wish the answer was me but a few others come to mind, I'm going to guess it's Lucy herself...or it could be Vic, then there's Betty-Jo... and Mary-Ellen too. Geez. This is a tough one.

I'm trying to get you to 4500 Marty, but my mind is beginning to blog down in this run.

Good eye, Ed,
I was just about to inform you that you were on the wrong track with my latest riddle when you had second thoughts and posted the correct answer. Easy peasy!

The source of the expression on the blog is our own Thom Barker. Perhaps he call tell us where he got it from in the first place.

Between taking "Tommy time" as needed, and keeping things "easy peasy", we should all sail through our reunion weekend beautifully.

However, right now it's riddle time:

A LOUSIE COMMENT ON THIS SITE
HAS BROUGHT ONE BLOGGER GREAT DELIGHT!

LOLOL, Lucy

Hi Louise,

I think the answer to your latest riddle is the Lousie comment Mike made long, long ago that quickly led to your new nickname - Lucy - which has brought YOU such great delight. The rest of us also delight in your new name. WE LOVE LUCY!

Louise and David said...

Oh, yes, Mary-Ellen,
I have had such fun acquiring a nick name at this stage of my life. In fact, I love Lucy!

In early blog days, I mentioned how disconcerting it was for me to read a letter that began with the greeting, Dear Lousie. Mike very kindly read the word as loo-sie, saying "I like loo-sie". He was reluctant to attach the name to me until you did it for him, Mary-Ellen.

Family and friends have just naturally begun referring to me as Lucy and now I find myself answering to that name as easily as I respond to "Louise".

Thanks folks!

How about this riddle?

THIS MIGHT WELL BE YOUR FAVOURITE STEAK
BUT THINK AGAIN, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE.

I've just straightened out the liquor order for Saturday. Everything looks ok, I'm a little concerned about the Alexander Keiths though, if that old guy gives me any trouble I'm gonna kick his ass.

ed said...

Lucy, I wonder if your latest riddle is refering to T-Bone steak. Agghh! That's my brother, and a great one at that.

ed said...

We're creeping up on Tricia's prediction. It will probably be a slow day on the blog tomorrow so Tricia, Sonia and Rob all have a chance. I'm tempted to move it up to 850 but I think this will be it for tonight, unless...unless, Lucy posts another riddle...then I'm all over it.

I'll be watching

heather said...

*giving her head a shake*

Wow... This blog is huge! That's what I get for being away for weeks at a time!

I have some tidbits for Saturday I thought I'd take a minute to post.

First of all, if you've been reading the blog and finding yourself thinking, "Where the heck am I supposed to go on Saturday and why do they keep spelling 'champion' wrong?", Campion College is located on the northeast corner of the University of Regina campus. If Regina is not home and you're still a little confused, I understand there will be a few Antoninis and kin attending, so you might be able to hitch a ride with one of them. If you're feeling brave, the link below, copied and pasted into your internet browser, will take you to a .pdf map of the campus including the parking lots.

Which brings me to the second of all (what a segue!)... Parking on Saturday is free if you park at a spot with a meter or any areas designated for 'M' permit holders. If you choose not to park at a meter or M spot, your parking fee will be assessed by the grumpy fellow circling your car, who will be more than happy to leave you a note with said fee amount under your wiper blade.

Our event will be on the main floor of Campion in the student commons, but I'm sure we'll post a sign here and there to point the way. Head for the swirly metal spiral (you'll know it when you see it) and slip through the gate. Be sure to pause for a moment of reverence for the beautiful floor Dad installed, and let the festivities begin!

I'm sure I'll be there well before noon to unlock the place, so if you have anything you'd like to set up before people start arrive, you're welcome to come early.

It all begins the day after tomorrow??? That can't be right. What happened to 256 days until the reunion...??

Love,
Heather

850, eh?

heather said...

Well, considering I'm pretty far down the list of bloggers, it probably wouldn't be fair to claim the fame of fulfilling a prediction, so I'll leave the blog at 849.

850 belongs to whomever wakes up the earliest, or stays up the latest!

Just fyi on Friday bring your own snacks - chips, nuts etc nothing fancy. Bring your own booze or anything else you would like to drink. We will have bottled water for the walk to Little Arm. Also, bring chairs as mentioned earlier and if you're planning on staying overnight bring a sleeping bag. We will have hot dogs for supper (for those who don't want fish and chips) and marshmallows for the campfire. Thomas hope you are travelling safe, you can call me on my cell
anytime at 535-4111.

Yes, Ed, of course it's T-bone I'm referring to in my latest riddle.

Many of us were surprised to see our brother, Tony, sign off as T-bone. We still are. It is not a nickname that gives the slightest hint of its origin or meaning.

We just know that the T-bone we love is toe knee and toe knee knee. He makes us laugh at ever turn.

Good night T-bone, wherever you are.

I'll leave you with this question:

WILL THIS TRANSPORT NEVER COME?
THAT FUTURE DRIVE IS PAST FOR SOME.

Good Morning Canada,

And so we begin our last day. I'll start it off by answering Lucy's riddle. I'm pretty sure this riddle refers to the "taxi" Mike has been hailing for the past 5 months, and the one David and Louise no longer drive. I won't wait for Mike to answer because this is the last chance to challenge Lucy and her riddles. I still find it hard to believe she has been able to entertain us with as many as she is coming up with.

ed said...

I have a couple of t s to cross today and if old Alexander Keith gives me any trouble I'll be punching...I mean dotting a couple of eyes as well.

T-Bone is meeting me at the liquor store, just in case I need back up for Al.

David has offered to lend a hand as well so any last minute request should be made today.

Louise and David said...

Ha ha, Ed,
I knew you'd be up looking for a riddle on this our last day of pre-reunion blogging.

I can't resist saying it .... in the end, you got the taxi!

You are also right about the Butcher family being finished with the taxi business for good. Yippee!

Louise and David said...

Very funny, Ed
You've made a government hurdle seem like a lot of good fun. Still, that is not the answer to my latest riddle.

The only POW's on the blog are Vic's and I believe that one or two of them remain unsolved even in the closing hours of pre-reunion blogging.

I'm going to take a stab at solving one of them now. Vic, is Sensible Royalty, The Prudent Prince for The Student Prince?

Can you update us on any other POW's still outstanding? We puzzle lovers hate to let go of a challenge too easily.

I have one last riddle to make the count 150:

A BROTHER'S IN THIS NEWS REPORT
OF BOOMING DAYS IN MINOR SPORT.

LOLOL, Lucy on my last riddle

BJ said...

Lucy,
I just talked to Vic and the Prudent Prince is CORRECT. She thinks the others have all been solved, but I think there were one or 2 others we didn't get. She has them written down somewhere but she doesn't have them at hand at the moment. She will find them sometime and let us know. I knew her POWs was the answer to your riddle, but just haven't had a chance to post today. I had some lessons and some last-minute committments and am just getting things wrapped up now. As everyone starts heading out to the reunion, the blog is definitely going to slow down. It will be fun to see who posts the last one.
Len, We will not be attending the beach events but know everyone will have a wonderful time.
We leave tomorrow morning and I have been packed since this morning. I'm not eager!!!!!
Thanks to everyone who has done so much to make this get-together a success.

Kelly Hamilton, President and Len Antonini, VP are credited with the skyrocketing interest in Regina Minor Football. The article goes on to say: "They are quick to credit all the voluteers for the continuing growth of RMF.

Hi, Mike,
You can bet I am still here. So far I have been blurking instead of blogging. It's great to see that we are working on the post-reunion phase of Ed's Edition.

Ed .... should we start a take four now?

Lost and found .... we have a pair of reading glasses, very light-weight with a brown-bronze frame and rectangular lenses. Please spread the word that the glasses are here in Mom's suite.

I add my thanks to everyone who made the weekend such a great success - Friday at the Beach, Saturday at Campion College, Sunday at the Cathedral and Monday on the golf course. It was a truly awesome renunion because so many people wanted it to be the best ever. We did it; didn't we!

Love, Lucy

I said it once and I'll say it again!I had a GREAT time meeting most all of you for the first time, having a chance to put faces to all of these Blog names.
I have never felt so welcome to be a part of a Family and a Family of this size!
Thank you for a Great Weekend and a Great Party!
Hopefully we can do it again in a few years!
I'm sure that this blog will continue but I retire my position of post counter. I will just read catch up and laugh and keep Kleenex's close!

I agree with Lucy that we should start a new chapter on the blog

Ed has started a new "Take". If you can't find us here look for Chapter Four - The Flock Dispersed.
See you there.
