A celebration of seven years can be marked by copper or wool. Wool is durable and warm; copper takes on a beauty of its own with the passage of time. We hope all of that is true of your marriage to one another.
Have an especially happy day on this November Sunday, with Sadie and Carmen to add to its joy and meaning. Here's to your beautiful family and to lucky number 7! Cheers!
PS: Shannon and Andry, We have just learned about Evan Gregory's birth on October 12. Congratulations! Sadie and Carmen must be in awe of their new brother.
We have already added Evan to our family tree. This evening he, too, will be included in our anniversary toast to you and your family on this special occasion.
Today they celebrated an All Souls day mass at St Cecilia's Church to remember all the faithful departed, especially those whose funerals were celebrated the past year at St Cecilia's. At the time of the intercessory prayers they called out each persons name. When mom's name was called Tony, Rob, myself and auntie Barbara went forward and Barbara lit a commemorative candle for mom. It was really nicely done, 15 others were also called, the most recent being Oct 4.
Thanks for lighting Mom's commemorative candle today, Edward, Tony, Rob and Auntie Barbara. I imagine you went forward with all of us in mind.
We appreciate hearing about the All-Souls Day Mass and the ritual of quiet remembrance. Thanks for posting it on the blog, Ed. We were with you in spirit.
Dear Ed, Thanks for being at the All Soul's Day Remembrance Service. We would have liked to be there with you. It sounds like it was a special moment when you went forward for the lighting of the candle. Love, BJ
Today I am recalling our chance meeting in Radium Hot Springs and our enjoyable follow-up visit in Fairmont. That summer encounter was pure serendipity ... the kind of delightful gift your presence is to others, wherever you happen to be.
However you decide to celebrate with family and friends, have the happy time you deserve on your special day, Michele. Here in St. Andrews we will be raising a birthday toast to you and to the health and happiness of those you love. Cheers!
Election Day in USA! We will be watching the results tonight on one of the 4 or 5 US networks that will be broadcasting. Any predictions? Anyone? love, BJ
There's lots of speculation going on here in the UK. It will be after midnight before we get the results, though. I don't envy the man who wins this election. The loser may end up being the winner in the long run.
President of the USA--a difficult job for sure. It amazes me that anyone wants it. The outcome of this election is particularly hard to predict, what with its historic significance, the huge turnout expected, and the complicated voting system. However, I am going to go out on a limb and predict a win for Obama. BJ
USA election news is likely to eclipse the excitement of your November 5, 2008 birthday. Still, we wish you a time of happy celebration with your family and friends, Tony.
Here in St. Andrews we are thinking of you with thanks for a brother we admire and love more than you might realize. We're glad to have another chance to tell you so on this, your 62nd birthday.
Here's to a very happy day, Tony, and to another year of personal well-being and happiness!
World events are sure to make this November 5, 2008 birthday one you will remember for years to come.
We hope today's celebrations in your honour also make their mark on your memory and in your heart. How could things be otherwise - with Davis, Jack and Brandon there to share the day's fun and excitement with you?
Be sure to find some relaxing personal time as well, Dana. Celebrate the special person you are in the lives of your family and friends; pamper yourself, too!
Here's to a satisfying birthday, Dana - a day of abundant family love that spills over into an entire year of happy living.
"Let yourself feel good, laugh with friends, have fun. Living your life to the full is not betrayal of a memory but fulfillment of a promise to someone who would want only the best for you."
Hi Louise, Thanks for the nice sentiment. It does speak to me about Mom because I do believe she would want us to enjoy & live life to the full. THANK YOU - it brings back a nice memory of Mom.
Love you lots, ME xoxoxo PS. I Love the little picture!
Well, it's a cold, wet November morning here in St. Andrews. It's the kind of day when golfers discover that no matter how bad you are playing, it is possible to play worse. I think we will all stay inside today.
Foggy in Ottawa today. We can barely see across the street. Fog is quite unusual for us--it's kind of eerie. The weekend is going to be wet and colder. Love, BJ
The day cleared up nicely enough to allow David some afternoon time on the driving range. He and a couple of friends are supposed to golf the Old Course tomorrow morning but we'll have to wait and see how the new day dawns.
It sure gets dark early now that we are on winter hours.
BJ...November 7th is not passing us by without a toast to you to celebrate all the delightful surprises that really made Mom's day every year on this date.
7 cheers to you! Hip,hip,hip .... hip,hip,hip, hooray!
Today you mark 39 years of marriage. Congratulations! We hope this is a day of relaxation for two and a time of celebration for many.
Here in St. Andrews we toast you on this special occasion. Here's to your love for one another, to your family, and to lots more happy times together. Cheers!
A Sunday celebration can make an already important day seem even more special. We hope that is the case for you today.
Have a happy, relaxing time, with Stephen, Emily and Alexander there to make sure that you do. Whether you have a party for four or many more, we hope you are able to enjoy your day from beginning to end.
This evening, we will join in on the fun from afar, with a toast to your health and happiness today and throughout the coming year. Have a very happy birthday, Mona!
Cheers, best wishes and lots of love, Louise and David
Hey, how come nobody mentioned that the Riders lost to BC in yesterday's semi-final game? I had to go to Facebook to find a few cryptic comments that sent me back to Google for results.
Is there anyone left standing in your competition, Marty?
I should also take time to post our Christmas plans. Well, so far all we have done is book a December 7th flight to Vancouver, returning to Scotland on January 19th.
We don't know exactly what we will do in all our time and travels but our base will be Paul's home in Westbank.

Don't worry about not posting the paintings. We know that any MSA original will be a grand prize.
We just received news of Corson Miles Rathwell's early, emergency arrival on November 10th. We hope Mom and baby are doing well today. We also share Presley's awe over her healthy new brother. Word has it that he has a full head of red hair. Surprise, surprise!
Welcome to our family, Corson; welcome to the world!
It may seem strange for us to be sending a bit of warmth to Texas from Scotland but that's exactly what we're doing this morning.
Winter's cold will not keep us from raising a warm toast in your honor today. We hope your birthday is especially happy; may the year that follows be filled with art, music and beauty of every kind. Cheers!
We hope your 2008 birthday is a good one - with Chris and Tess to share in the celebrations. Tess's eyes are sure to light up as bright as the candles on your cake. She may even be able to help you blow them out this year!
Here in St. Andrews we toast you and your family on this special occasion. Cheers, Jamie ... to your good health and continuing happiness, now and throughout the coming year.
Well, BJ We did not win any prizes in the animal quiz. The answer key arrived in today's mail. Without explanation, three of our answers were marked wrong:
5. Drivers blame this kind of petrol. KANGAROO (We said LAMB) 28. Oriental Country. ELAND (We said TURKEY) 30. Deceive. FOX (We said BUFFALO)
90% is still a very good score and our wrong answers made at least as much sense as the correct ones.
Hi Lucy, I am very pleased with how we did on the animal quiz. I think Eland is very clever for oriental country (east land), but I think Lamb is better than kangaroo. I had never heard of either Lamb or Kangaroo gas stations before this, but you can find lamb in 'blame', whereas I cannot find a rationale for kangaroo. What am I missing. Can you explain?
Well, BJ, I looked up "kangaroo petrol" and discovered that some time ago, there was a tainted gas incident in Britain during which some affected cars lurched and jumped along the roadways. The vehicles were said to have "kangaroo petrol sydrome". Who knew?
That is so true, BJ. Speaking of trivia, I have taken to doing a daily quiz on the TV, too. It's called Bamboozle. Most of the time I have to guess at the answer. It has a multiple-choice format and I seldom have to try every possibility.
For example, today I learned that the capybara, native to South America, is the largest rodent in the world.
Lucy, I have a 365-day desk calendar with the same format. It is called Mrs. Byrne's Dictionary. A 366-day (this is leap year, remember) Quiz calendar of unusual, obscure, and preposterous words. Today's word is allotriophagy. The choices are: 1. satisfied with bland food. 2. experimenting with food substitutes 3. the craving for weird food. I'll let you figure it out before I post the answer. Love, BJ
Do you ever look up the answers on line, BJ, or do you always try to figure things out on their own? I did take a guess (luckily correct) before confirming my hunch.
Lucy, I try to figure it out first, then go to the Internet if necessary. In our quizzes I do use whatever I have available--books, Internet, Atlases, recordings, lists etc. I think using modern resources and sources is fair. I always answer the ones I know or can figure out first, then go to other sources. How about you? The answer to today's is on the back of my calendar sheet. So I answer first then flip the page. You are correct; it is #3.
Today is Prince Charles' 60th birthday. Are you hearing anything about it in your part of the world? People are sure making a big fuss over him in London and in UK news reports.
Tomorrow we will be able to watch TV coverage of a comedy night which was hosted by John Clease in Charles' honour. The guest list includes several big-name comedians and the show should be good for a few laughs.
We hope you have joyful birthday celebrations with Shannon and your family today.
Children always enjoy these special occasions and we imagine that is true of Sadie and Carmen, too. They will certainly be able to help you blow out your candles and eat your cake.
It will be a while before Evan can actively join in on the fun, but his very presence in your life will do a lot to make your day a happy one.
We send warm wishes your way today in a birthday toast of health and happiness to last the entire year.
Hi Lucy, Thanks for your joke of yesterday. A laugh is always a bright spot in a day, and at the end of my very busy day yesterday it was most welcome. Trust children to take things literally, and trust some adults to just "not get it". Maybe we should start a joke-a-day tournament. Here's mine for today:
----- Interview with an 80 year old: The local news station was interviewing an 80-year-old lady because she had just gotten married for the fourth time. The interviewer asked her questions about her life, about what it is like to be marrying again at 80, and then about her new husband's occupation. "He's a funeral director," she answered. "Interesting," the newsman thought. He then asked her if she wouldn't mind telling him a little about her first three husbands and what they did for a living. She paused for a few moments, needing time to reflect on all those years. After a short time, a smile came to her face and she answered proudly, explaining that she'd first married a banker when she was in her early 20's, then a circus ringmaster when in her 40's, later on a preacher when in her 60's, and now in her 80's, a funeral director. The interviewer looked at her, quite astonished, and asked why she had married four men with such diverse careers. She smiled and explained, "I married one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, and four to go."
Well, I have the results of another quiz. We correctly identified 37 of the 40 cartoon characters in the Ceres Bowling Club Quiz 2008.
We missed these three:
4. Polluted by short learner & Edward. (PLUTO) We said TEDDY (Take Ted and L out of polluted and the rest of the letters spell Pluto)
5. Braveheart's dog? (GROMIT) We said LASSIE (Wallace and Gromit)
40. Little devil in this family. (THE SIMPSONS) We said THE MUNSTERS. s(IMP)sons
There were 30 entirely correct entries. The first one drawn was from Mrs. Brown of Guardbridge (£10)and the second was from Mrs. Swann of Ladybank (£5).
Margaret tells me that she is bringing over 3 new quizzes this weekend. Two have to do with Christmas and the third is Waters of the World. I'll post them as soon as I get them.
Hi Lucy, Well done, us. We are improving. Looking forward to the new quizzes. Does Margaret enter all the ones she gives us? It is kind of her to get them for us as well. Love, BJ
Hi, BJ Yes, we are getting good scores on our quizzes. I can't say for sure about Margaret entering ALL of the quizzes but, you're right, it's nice that she gives us our own entry form. She and I see one another only on weekends and we occasionally get help from one another in solving a particular clue. Usually though, we're on our own in completing and submitting an entry form and so is Margaret.
As promised, here is the first quiz - Waters of the World, sponsored by the Inner Wheel Club of Cupar.

Hey, It looks like my run of good luck has hit a brick wall. I'm out of the MSA contest. Sigh! However, I can still anticipate the enjoyment the winners will have as they hang up their original paintings; you fortunate people!! Marty, you're a genius, and how lucky we all are that you're generous enough to share the fruits of that genius. What a guy!
I add my congratulations to the winners, and kudos to the artist, and am just waiting to see the outcome of second and third place. As an Easterner I should be cheering for the East, but my western roots are pulling me in that direction. Love, BJ
That is amazing, BJ! How do you get these answers? I have been struggling with #35 for hours!
Because of you, the Waters of the World Quiz is finished. The only answer I am not completely happy with is #20 (Bolivia) but I admit that your reasoning is right on. (I also have no suggestion as to what else the answer might be.)
Now I'm ready to post the Christmas quizzes. The clues are all scrambled letters from what I can tell.
Thanks Marty, for the Official confirmation of our prizes! David was surprised to learn that yesterday's game was the 96th Grey Cup event. His number at boarding school was....
you guessed it!.... 96. That was Dave's identifying mark on everything he used, wore and owned over those childhood years. 96 has been his lucky number ever since. It really came up big for us this time, didn't it!?!
Thanks BJ, for your words of congratulations. And yes, it is nice that the west has won the Grey Cup again!
Happy 24th Wedding Anniversary, Kelly and Leonard!
We would love to be sharing a toast with you on this special occasion. However, you can be sure that we will be raising a wee dram in your honour today. We may even make it a double!
Here's to a husband and wife who are also the very best of friends. Have a great day of joyful celebrations.
Cheers, best wishes and lots of love, Louise and David
Lucy, I am not sure about Bolivia for #20 either, but the no on the end of the coin boliviaNO could be the nothing in the clue. What does Margaret think? BJ
Yay me! I am looking forward to seeing the new minature that will be sitting on my mantle!
I help out in Eddie and Mia's classroom every other Wednesday afternoon and Eddie's teacher who is from Montreal is a huge Alouettes fan. He is away until Wednesday - I wonder if he was in Montreal this weekend?! He has a huge Alouettes flag hanging in the classroom during football season and one day while we were out in the hallway talking about the upcoming lesson and the help the kids would need, the kids inside closed the door and we could hear giggling. Knowing that this is usually not a good sign, M. Blais opened the door and there was Eddie trying to tape a homemade "Go Riders Go!" sign to the Alouettes sign. M. Blais did not think it was very funny, but I had to keep from laughing!

Here's a laugh in reply to Betty Jo's call. An old girlfriend sent it to me.
"My wife and I were sitting at a table at my high school reunion, and I kept staring at a drunken lady swigging her drink as she sat alone at a nearby table.
My wife asked, 'Do you know her?'
'Yes,' I sighed, 'She's my old girlfriend. I understand she took to drinking right after we split up those many years ago, and I hear she hasn't been sober since.'
'My God!' says my wife, 'who would think a person could go on celebrating that long?'
We just noticed that your November 25th birthday is also the signal that Christmas is just a month away.
A personal celebration seems like a nice way to start off the festive season. We hope the happiness of this day carries through December and on into all the months of the new year.
The events of this past week have been building up to the celebration of tomorrow's feast of St. Andrew, patron saint of Scotland.
David and I started celebrating last Sunday night at dance featuring Scottish reels, rounds, polkas and a few manageable waltzes.
Tuesday we joined an evening sing-along service of Scottish hymns accompanied by accordions and fiddles.
Wednesday night we were treated to a medley of Gilbert and Sullivan hits sung by the St. Andrews University's G&S Society.
Thursday found us at a magic show presented by the local Magic Circle's magicians-in-training.
Last night, at the St. Andrews Golf Club awards banquet, David was presented with the vice-captain's cup which he won some time ago in a fall tournment.
Tonight, if the sky is clear, we may go to open house at the university's Observatory.
But tomorrow will be the "icing on the cake". All local attractions are free to the public. (We couldn't possibly take them all in.) By 5:00pm the townspeople will gather in Church Square for the turning on of the Christmas lights. That done, the St. Andrews Pipe Band will "beat the retreat" through the streets of the burgh, to the Castle ruins on the shore of the North Sea. We will be there for that!
The Scots really know how to celebrate and that's exactly what Lucy has been doing!
Well, we got to the Observatory tonight and the sky was as clear as it could be.
Guess which constellation the telescope was aimed at for viewing by the public?
After waiting in line, I finally stood alone at the top of a special ladder and looked through two sets of lenses - first at a full view and then at a close-up of just two of seven bright stars.
I said to the attendant, "I am one of seven sisters, too; this is a very special night for me." He looked up at me, smiled and replied, "Oh, that IS good. Thanks for telling me!"
For me, tonight was the highlight of a week of highlights.
For you this is one of those "once-in-a-lifetime" days. You are now offically a teenager! Congratulations on this, your 13th birthday and welcome to the teen world.
When our boys were your age we always felt that it was nice to have a teen around the house.
We hope your Sunday celebrations are lots of fun for you. May today be just the start of a "lucky 13" for you, your family and your friends.
Dear Lucy, It's great that you are going to be in Canada for Christmas. Too bad you can't be in Eastern Canada too. Another time, we hope. Imagine it being the 7 sisters constellation on the very night you were viewing. Aren't we lucky to be us! Love, BJ

Ed,
Thanks for the new thread.
Yes, Mom was a very special lady. We remember her with love.

Thanks Edward!!!
You have chosen a grand way to remember a great-grand MOTHER at the beginning of November. So many of our memories are good ones.

Happy Wedding Anniversary,
Shannon and Andry,
A celebration of seven years can be marked by copper or wool.
Cheers!

Shannon and Andry,
We have just learned about Evan Gregory's birth on October 12. Congratulations! Sadie and Carmen must be in awe of their new brother.
We have already added Evan to our family tree. This evening he, too, will be included in our anniversary toast to you and your family on this special occasion.
Lots of love,

Hi Everyone,
Thanks Ed for the new thread and the picture that goes with it.
It's hard to believe it's been a year since Mom died. It just doesn't seem that long ago. I loved BJ's quote in the Nov. Bugle and repeat it here.
The death of a Mother is the first sorrow wept without her.
Love,
ME xoxoxo
The Bugle's Nov 6 Remembrance was the first thing that caught my eye, too, Mary Ellen. Don't you love that image of the single rose beneath it, too?
Love, Lucy
Today they celebrated an All Souls day mass at St Cecilia's Church to remember all the faithful departed, especially those whose funerals were celebrated the past year at St Cecilia's. At the time of the intercessory prayers they called out each persons name. When mom's name was called Tony, Rob, myself and auntie Barbara went forward and Barbara lit a commemorative candle for mom. It was really nicely done, 15 others were also called, the most recent being Oct 4.
It was a good morning.
Love, Edward
Thanks for lighting Mom's commemorative candle today, Edward, Tony, Rob and Auntie Barbara. I imagine you went forward with all of us in mind.
We appreciate hearing about the All-Souls Day Mass and the ritual of quiet remembrance. Thanks for posting it on the blog, Ed. We were with you in spirit.
Love, Louise and David
Dear Ed,
Thanks for being at the All Soul's Day Remembrance Service. We would have liked to be there with you. It sounds like it was a special moment when you went forward for the lighting of the candle.
Love, BJ
Happy Birthday, Michele!
Cheers!

Well, who's going to win tomorrow's USA presidential election? The BBC's reports make this anyone's race.
Lucy
President of the USA--a difficult job for sure. It amazes me that anyone wants it. The outcome of this election is particularly hard to predict, what with its historic significance, the huge turnout expected, and the complicated voting system. However, I am going to go out on a limb and predict a win for Obama.
BJ
I'm out on the same limb, BJ!
Lucy
There's an election coming up?
hahahaha
Rosa Parks sat so Martin Luther King could walk; MLK walked so Barack Obama could run; Obama ran so we could all fly...
My new favourite quote. Not sure who said it, but thank God this election went the right way.
Great words, Thom. Thanks for bringing that quotation to our attention.
Congratulations USA!
Luce
Happy Birthday, Toe knee And toe knee knee!
Lots of love,
Louise and David
Happy Birthday, Dana!!!
Best wishes and lots of love,
Louise and David

"Let yourself feel good, laugh with friends, have fun. Living your life to the full is not betrayal of a memory but fulfillment of a promise to someone who would want only the best for you."
LOL, Louise
Hi Louise,
Thanks for the nice sentiment. It does speak to me about Mom because I do believe she would want us to enjoy & live life to the full.
THANK YOU - it brings back a nice memory of Mom.
Love you lots,
ME xoxoxo
PS.
Lucy
BJ...November 7th is not passing us by without a toast to you to celebrate all the delightful surprises that really made Mom's day every year on this date.
7 cheers to you! Hip,hip,hip .... hip,hip,hip, hooray!
Love, Lucy
Happy Anniversary, Carol and Tony
Today you mark 39 years of marriage. Congratulations! We hope this is a day of relaxation for two and a time of celebration for many.
Here in St. Andrews we toast you on this special occasion. Here's to your love for one another, to your family, and to lots more happy times together. Cheers!
Love and best wishes,
Louise and David
Birthday Greetings, Mona!
Cheers, best wishes and lots of love,
Louise and David
Hey, how come nobody mentioned that the Riders lost to BC in yesterday's semi-final game? I had to go to Facebook to find a few cryptic comments that sent me back to Google for results.
Is there anyone left standing in your competition, Marty?
Love, Lucy
I should also take time to post our Christmas plans. Well, so far all we have done is book a December 7th flight to Vancouver, returning to Scotland on January 19th.
We don't know exactly what we will do in all our time and travels but our base will be Paul's home in Westbank.
I'll keep you posted.
Love, Lucy

Lucy,
That's Marty's code. I just copied it when he first posted it. As long as he knows what it means we're okay. Unfortunately, most of us are now out of the running. Sigh.......

Thanks Marty,
It seems that there is still some hope in this contest of yours, but there is not much of a spread between 6 and 2 points. This is still anyone's contest, eh?
Don't worry about not posting the paintings. We know that any MSA original will be a grand prize.
Love, Lucy
Lest we forget....
Sometimes sadness is the order of the day. Today we are sad for all the young lives lost in war.
Congratulations, Christine and James!
Lots of love,
Louise and David
Happy Birthday, Johanne!
Cheers!
Lots of love and best wishes,
Louise and David
Happy Birthday, Jamie!
Best wishes and lots of love,
Louise and David
Well, BJ
We did not win any prizes in the animal quiz. The answer key arrived in today's mail. Without explanation, three of our answers were marked wrong:
5. Drivers blame this kind of petrol. KANGAROO (We said LAMB)
28. Oriental Country. ELAND (We said TURKEY)
30. Deceive. FOX (We said BUFFALO)
90% is still a very good score and our wrong answers made at least as much sense as the correct ones.
Until the next challenge then....
Love, Lucy
Hi Lucy,
I am very pleased with how we did on the animal quiz.
Who knew?
Lucy
THANK YOU, LUCY!
Who knew is right. Haven't we learned a lot of useless, but interesting, trivia from our quizzes.
Love, BJ
That is so true, BJ. Speaking of trivia, I have taken to doing a daily quiz on the TV, too. It's called Bamboozle. Most of the time I have to guess at the answer. It has a multiple-choice format and I seldom have to try every possibility.
For example, today I learned that the capybara, native to South America, is the largest rodent in the world.
Lucy
Lucy,
I have a 365-day desk calendar with the same format. It is called Mrs. Byrne's Dictionary. A 366-day (this is leap year, remember) Quiz calendar of unusual, obscure, and preposterous words.
Today's word is allotriophagy. The choices are:
1. satisfied with bland food.
2. experimenting with food substitutes
3. the craving for weird food.
I'll let you figure it out before I post the answer.
Love, BJ
I had to google that one, BJ. It's #3 and I won't forget that!
Do you ever look up the answers on line, BJ, or do you always try to figure things out on their own? I did take a guess (luckily correct) before confirming my hunch.
Lucy
Lucy,
I try to figure it out first, then go to the Internet if necessary.
Love, BJ
Today is Prince Charles' 60th birthday. Are you hearing anything about it in your part of the world? People are sure making a big fuss over him in London and in UK news reports.
Tomorrow we will be able to watch TV coverage of a comedy night which was hosted by John Clease in Charles' honour. The guest list includes several big-name comedians and the show should be good for a few laughs.
Happy Birthday, Prince Charles!
On November 1st I won a bottle of white wine in a local draw. My prize was delivered last night and is already cooling in our fridge. Cheers!
Lucy
Birthday Greetings, Andry!
Cheers and love from Louise and David!
We heard a cute joke at Sunday's Rotary Christmas Party:
An arithmetic lesson was going well until the teacher asked, "If I give you 2 rabbits, another 2 and then two more, how many rabbits do you have?"
Johnny's hand shot up, "Seven!"
"Now, listen carefully to the question, Johnny. I give you 2 rabbits, add 2 more and then another 2. How many do you have?"
"Seven!"
"No, no, Johnny, pay close attention, please! I give you 2 rabbits, 2 more and then another 2. How many do you have now?"
"Seven!"
The exasperated teacher asked, "How can you possibly have seven rabbits, Johnny?".
"Because I already have one at home!"
The punch line was not nearly as funny as the comment from a lady at our table, "I don't get it!"
LOL, Lucy

We are dropping in with greetings
On this day that you are 3;
And we're hoping that your birthday
Is as fine as it can be.
You have Sadie right beside you,
Also Evan, Mom and Dad.
They are there to make this birthday
Just the best you've ever had.
So you might as well get started
On the count of 1...2...THREE!
May you have a happy birthday
Filled with family, fun and glee.

Hi Lucy,
Thanks for your joke of yesterday. A laugh is always a bright spot in a day, and at the end of my very busy day yesterday it was most welcome. Trust children to take things literally, and trust some adults to just "not get it". Maybe we should start a joke-a-day tournament. Here's mine for today:
----- Interview with an 80 year old:
The local news station was interviewing an 80-year-old lady because she had just gotten married for the fourth time.
Any one else have a laugh for us.
Love, BJ
Well, I have the results of another quiz. We correctly identified 37 of the 40 cartoon characters in the Ceres Bowling Club Quiz 2008.
We missed these three:
4. Polluted by short learner & Edward. (PLUTO) We said TEDDY
(Take Ted and L out of polluted and the rest of the letters spell Pluto)
Lucy
Hi Lucy,
Well done, us. We are improving.
Looking forward to the new quizzes. Does Margaret enter all the ones she gives us? It is kind of her to get them for us as well.
Love, BJ
Hi, BJ
Yes, we are getting good scores on our quizzes.
Love, Lucy

Hey,
It looks like my run of good luck has hit a brick wall. I'm out of the MSA contest. Sigh! However, I can still anticipate the enjoyment the winners will have as they hang up their original paintings; you fortunate people!!
Marty, you're a genius, and how lucky we all are that you're generous enough to share the fruits of that genius. What a guy!
Loving this family,
ME xoxoxoxo
Hi Marty,
WOW....We are so fortunate....
Our condolences to ME xxooxx and the remainder of the Antonini clan entrants.
We are so honoured and lucky to have won TWO "08-MSA-Minis"-a result of our calculated guesses in "The MSA Gray Cup competition".
Thanks to Saskatchewan R.R "Brittle Bones" we got very lucky.
Marty we look forward to adding your minis to our MSA collection here in St.A.
BTW...We will be in Calgary the weekend of Dec 14 (Alan's 30th b.d.)...Can we pick them up then???
Cheers...Dave /Louise
I add my congratulations to the winners, and kudos to the artist, and am just waiting to see the outcome of second and third place. As an Easterner I should be cheering for the East, but my western roots are pulling me in that direction.

Love, BJ
Thanks Marty, for the Official confirmation of our prizes! David was surprised to learn that yesterday's game was the 96th Grey Cup event. His number at boarding school was....
you guessed it!.... 96. That was Dave's identifying mark on everything he used, wore and owned over those childhood years. 96 has been his lucky number ever since. It really came up big for us this time, didn't it!?!
Thanks BJ, for your words of congratulations. And yes, it is nice that the west has won the Grey Cup again!

Happy 24th Wedding Anniversary,

We would love to be sharing a toast with you on this special occasion. However, you can be sure that we will be raising a wee dram in your honour today. We may even make it a double!
Here's to a husband and wife who are also the very best of friends. Have a great day of joyful celebrations.
Cheers, best wishes and lots of love,

Lucy,
I am not sure about Bolivia for #20 either, but the no on the end of the coin boliviaNO could be the nothing in the clue.

And then the fight started...
Happy 29th birthday, Luke!
We hope that you and Shannon can find time on this Tuesday birthday to stop work and celebrate 29.
Today we salute the lovely picture of thanks that you sent to us recently. In doing so, we toast your health and happiness on this special occasion.
Cheers, best wishes and lots of love,

Birthday Greetings, Veronica!
We just noticed that your November 25th birthday is also the signal that Christmas is just a month away.
A personal celebration seems like a nice way to start off the festive season. We hope the happiness of this day carries through December and on into all the months of the new year.
Cheers, love and best wishes!

You might ask, "Where's Lucy?"
Love, Lucy

Happy Birthday, Alexander!
Cheers, love and best wishes!
Louise and David

Dear Lucy,
It's great that you are going to be in Canada for Christmas. Too bad you can't be in Eastern Canada too. Another time, we hope.
Imagine it being the 7 sisters constellation on the very night you were viewing. Aren't we lucky to be us!
Love, BJ
