I woke up this first morning of February feeling like I could start an intense exercise program to carve off the extra weight I'm carrying around. Luckily I was able to crawl back into bed until the feeling passed.
An elderly man stood at the door with a piece of cake in his hand."My wife is eighty-six today," he said, "and she wants you to have a piece of her birthday cake." The cake was received gratefully, particularly because the man had walked half a mile to deliver it. An hour later he was back."Is anything the matter?" he was asked. "Well," he replied sheepishly,"Agatha sent me back to say she's only eighty five."
Poor guy. He may be the oldest man to get his wife's age wrong but he is not the first. Your story proves that the consequences of such an error can be "staggering".
Our Book of Days suggest that LACE would make a good gift on a thirteenth celebration. It is an intricate fabric with delicate or bold patterns that are mysterious and eye-catching.

In the midst of our worst storm of the year, Mr. Groundhog says we will have an early spring. And, from personal experience, one of my legs is 100 year older than the other.
Hi BJ, it's nice to see you on the blog in the early days following your knee surgery. You haven't lost your sense of humour in dealing with one old knee and another ancient one. I'm guessing that you're smiling through the pain. Love ya! Lucy

Hi Lucy, Yes, It is good to be back on the blog. And 'smiling through the pain' is also known as 'laughing to keep from crying.' So far so good, although it will be a whle before I am completely back on my feet.
Thanks for the anniversary wishes, Louise and David. Our deep freeze broke yesterday and we were able to spend some warm sunny time on our patio, toasting ourselves polysemously.
Hi Kenneth, You're welcome. Texas is really in the news right now. We're glad to hear that the deep freeze has broken. Usually, though, you guys have a lot more luck than the rest of us weatherwise.

What a difference a year can make!You have already made the most of this birthday weekend beginning with Friday evening spent with your parents here in St. Andrews.
Then Saturday morning found you making a trip to Cambo Gardens to enjoy its fields of snowdrops in bloom. And that was followed by a birthday lunch with your family.
Now that your February 27th birthday is finally here, may its fun and excitement match all that has led up to this happy day.
It happens only once in a lifetime that your age is the same as the date of your birth. I don't know why, but the celebration is called a GOLDEN one. Today it is your turn; you are 28 on the 28th.
May this be a special day, happily shared with Keenan, other family members and lots of good friends.

Really though, you don't look like you have any spare pounds to shed. The extra sleep was probably more what you needed than the intense exercise.
